Review │ Karma Bubble Bar by Lush

Today's review is on the Karma Bubble bar by Lush.

Let me first start off by saying that this is the new formula for the Karma bubble bar, it once looked very different. Saying that, I never tried the old formula bubble bar so this is a completely new experience for me when it comes to anything from the karma range at Lush.

When I first saw the Karma bubble bar I was instantly intrigued, the shape played a big part in that for me as I was reminded of the pyramids in Egypt. Since I can remember I have always been fascinated by the Egyptians and their structures so seeing this took me back to a time where I would search the Internet for all kinds of information on Egypt. I hadn't even had a chance to smell this bubble bar and already my mind had been made up that I was definitely buying this and before I knew it, I had it in my basket. The colours of this also made me excited to try this out because the purple is very deep and I was praying that it would make my bath water that exact colour and not be faded as that usually happens with the bubble bars, they don't tend to turn the water that deep of a colour, but maybe that's because I don't use a lot. I couldn't stop staring at this bubble bar because it was new into the Lush Buchanan street store and I hadn't even heard of it before, the colour mesmerised me and the shape made it a winner. What I did notice though was that, when you pick this bubble bar up its very soft, I felt like it was going to break in my hands and I got covered in purple, just as well I wasn't wearing white!

Now I didn't smell this bubble bar until I got home which isn't like me at all, usually I'm all about the smell of the products but for the first time, that wasn't the case. Once home I was looking at all the products I bought and though that I had better smell this to see if I actually like the scent or not... And when I did, it's safe to say that it was a definite not for me. I found it quite over powering, yet I couldn't smell it if i wasn't holding it up to my nose which I found particularly strange, as it was a very strong smell indeed. Thinking about it now, I can't really remember what it smelled like, I just know it wouldn't be my first choice of bubble bar.

When it came time to use the bubble bar I decide that I would cut it down a corner meaning that I would get 4 uses out of the bubble bar. This seemed the most practical way to divide it up as I like to get more than one use out of my bubble bars, wither I like the scent or not, plus I don't like a lot of bubbles in my bath, which you should know by now if you have read my previous reviews on bubble bars.

Once I cut the piece that I wanted off, I crumbled it under the running tap, soon enough the water stared turning a beautiful shade of purple! The pictures really don't do it justice as the purple was quite deep by the time I was climbing into the water.

Once in the bath I noticed that the water felt very smooth which happens with all lush bath products (well with the ones I have tried anyway) The scent wasn't too strong which was a relief considering I'm not too fond of the smell. The whole experience of the bubble bar from when I climbed into the bath to draining the water was definitely a relaxing one. The colour completely mellowed my mood, I felt like I was in a spa atmosphere as the hot water hugged my skin and the aroma became more appealing as I used the Space Girl bath bomb along with this bubble bar to give myself an aroma that I would like. The deep purple was just absolutely stunning and for that reason, I would definitely use this bubble bar again.

Apart from the scent of the bubble bar I can't fault it. It completely relaxed me and I was over the moon with the colour of my bath. My skin also felt very smooth once I emerged from the water and I felt peaceful all round. It's safe to say that this would be a bubble bar I would use in my late night baths I have before bed to calm my anxiety. I also liked the fact that there wasn't too many bubbles as I'm not a big fan of a bath filled to the brim with bubbles, I like just enough to cover the surface of the water. I will be buying this again and I would completely recommend this to anyone who is a fan of strong scents, this would be right up your street!

So what do Lush say about it? "Get an instant lift with this bubble bar with our signature exotic orange and patchouli fragrance. Sweet orange oil is refreshing, tangy and uplifting, as is lemongrass oil. Lavandin is a close relative of lavender and has similarly relaxing properties. Pine oil adds a fresh, green note to the perfume and elemi oil, which is traditionally used in incense recipes, adds complexity and freshness."

    2. I'm not sure if my post went through so here we go again... I believe the patchouli scent is what you don't like. I'm an essential oils distributor and can say that patchouli is very strong and musty. I'm not a fan. Other than that it seems like a great bar. Do you know if they ship to the US?
