Review │ Sex Bomb, bath bomb by Lush

Today's review is on Sex bomb Bath bomb by Lush.

Sex bomb has always been one of those products I see in store and mean to buy, yet always manage to forget about once I get into the process of picking things up. Many times I have went to pick it up and some other product that I have never tried before has caught my eye, but on this occasion I decided that I was definitely going to pick it up! So that's exactly what I done. With ingredients set to help you relax, unwind and get "in the mood" I though this was one that I had to have in my collection, just for such an occasion of needing to de-stress and get.... Well, you know...

My first thought on this bath bomb was "that name is perfect, I need it" I just couldn't help but have my attention stole by it. It's design is quite simple yet effective. Both the colours make for an aesthetically pleasing look and the rice paper rose that sits on top ties it all together. I was definitely taken by the design which is what you want to happen when designing a product.

When I first wrote this review any time I tried Sex Bomb I was left feeling a little disappointed in the scent of it as it wasn't that memorable but since then, well this year (2016) the ones I've been using have smelt AMAZING! I have been so impressed with how much it's changed in the scent department. It's strong, it lasts for ages and it fills the bathroom with such a relaxing scent that leaves me feeling so good. The scents of sex bomb are ylang ylang and jasmine which I get, because when smelling the bath bomb while it was fizzing away I did get the smell of jasmine hitting my nose.

First impressions of this bath bomb were pretty good although there are others I would much rather buy before getting this one, that's probably why I skimmed past it so many other times.

Once I put sex bomb into my bath it fell to the bottom of the water straight away so in order for me to get a good picture I had to lift it to the surface as you can see in the picture above.

The bath bomb fizzed away quite fast compared to a few others that I have had from lush, not that I minded much because it made the water feel amazing which I guess would be down to the soya milk which is used to help condition and soothe the skin. The bath bomb have out a nice pink colour as it fizzed away, and if you have read any of my previous posts with anything pink in it, you will know it's my favourite colour so I'm always happy to see some pink in my bath, it reminds me of mermaids.

As I said before, Sex bomb is designed to help you unwind, relax, de-stress and put you "in the mood" so they achieve this by having Jasmine, clary sage oil and ylang ylang in there. If you didn't already know, jasmine can be used as an aphrodisiac so I guess that's to help with the getting "in the mood" part. Although I didn't feel like doing anything if that nature after the bath, I did feel relaxed and a little less stressed plus my skin felt amazing. That's something I always count on from lush, for their products making my skin feel great and this bath bomb is no exception.

When I first say the rice paper rose that was on top of the bath bomb I thought that it would dissolve in the water after a while but I was mistaken. The rose floats about the bath and it doesn't even look like a rose anymore after a while. It's a pink ball of goo by the end of it which I could be doing without when it comes to cleaning the bath so I would urge lush to have a re-think on that one.

All in all the bath bomb was good. I enjoyed watching it fizz away, feeling relaxed and my skin feeling lovely. I would however like it a lot better if it lasted a little longer as some of Lush's other bath bombs do, like big blue or honey bee. I would also enjoy not having to clean a ball of goo out of the bath afterwards.

So what do Lush say about it? "When you’ve got that feeling - tired, stressed out and anxious - you need some sensual healing. The fragrant blend of jasmine, ylang ylang and clary sage will soon have you relaxed and feeling in the mood... Jasmine is an ancient aphrodisiac, used as a sensual perfume in India for centuries and in aromatherapy to ease stress and anxiety. Clary sage clears the mind, while ylang ylang is renowned for soothing worries."
