#MeetTheBeauties ││ Unsigned, Emmie

Hello lovelies and welcome to this weeks installment of #MeetTheBeauties, Today is all about Unsigned, Emmie who Runs Unsignedmeblog.co.uk
I first came across Emmie when she tweeted me about my "15 Thoughts I have on my Periods" post telling me how she related so much and since then I have really enjoyed reading her blog posts which I can relate to. I have anxiety and her posts are just fabulous, she really captures a lot of my inner thoughts with her words, So go check out her blog once you have read this interview because I am sure you will find a post you just LOVE. Anyway, without further adieu, Lets all learn a little more about Emmie.

1: Tell us what you can about yourself, the girl behind Unsigned Emmie.

Well I couldn't go around calling myself Me - it just didn't seem personal enough and I want people to feel like they know me as much as they can so I needed a name. Em (M) Ee (E) = Emmie so that's the name sorted. I’m from London and in my mid-to-late twenties. By now you know I have Mr.Me who is my other half and you also know I’m a female. I didn't disclose it straight away but I also have the Mini Mes so I am a mother also. I didn't want my blog to just be about me - I wanted someone else to be able to relate to something on there too. I love food and have the world’s worst sweet tooth which I sometimes try to tame. I have expensive taste for someone who rarely has any money to spare but I have big hopes that it won’t always be that way. No pets – more hard-work and cleaning fur that I just don’t need. I believe in the #BlackLivesMatter movement strongly as you can see from this post (http://unsignedmeblog.co.uk/lifestyle/blacklivesmatter-how-many-reasons-do-you-need/). I suffer with anxiety. I prefer to listen to music than watch TV and I love to read but rarely have time to.

2: How did you come up with your blog name?

Possible names were “Me, Free”, “Anonymously Me”, “Absolutely Anonymous” and “Secret Life of Me”. I don’t know where Unsigned came from but it stuck in my head so it became Unsigned, Me and I honestly love what it stands for. Anonymity, Realness, Truth, Freedom.

3: How long have you been blogging?

I've been blogging on and off since 2011. I started off as a mummy blog which was pretty successful but then I kind of lost myself and I didn't just want to be a mummy. So I've bounced around since 2014 I think and now here I am starting again in 2016.

4: Who/What Inspired you to start a blog?

Which one LOL? No, all jokes aside, blogging is something I have for myself and I've always enjoyed writing - I used to write poetry when I was a child and teen to express my feelings and thoughts. Mr Me will encourage me to start blogging again if he notices me stop or something like CBT will make me remember why it's so good for me to write. So I guess life inspires me.

5: Do you have a tip you can share for new bloggers?

Go with your wisdom/knowledge. I know I could never be a fashion/beauty blogger because a) I'm too broke for fashion and b) I've never been much into beauty. Even if you don't initially know where your blog is going, you will work it out in time. My blog will go down the anxiety, self-help, relationship road because it's what I know. It's not a massive niche but it doesn't mean it doesn't count to someone. Don't worry about the numbers. Worry about the quality of your followers.

6: Tell us why you decided to create a somewhat anonymous blog.

How did this slightly anonymous blog begin? Well, I thought about it for a while. I needed an outlet and sometimes, I just can’t offload some of the things in my head to anyone. Things I can’t even share with Mr Me (like this Attention Whore post https://unsignedmeblog.wordpress.com/2016/06/13/attention-whore/ ) – not something I can just casually drop into conversation). But for some of the things I want to share, I don’t want to be known for and so I knew it had to be anonymous as much as it could be. As it stands, 2 of my closest friends have access to the blog with the knowledge of who I am. Sometimes, a part of me just wants to say "whatever - who cares if people know who I am?" but then the sensible part of me does care so here I am.

7: Is there anything you know now that you wish you knew when you started blogging?

Everyone can't be a sponsored, all crafting, all comping, award winning blogging superstar. I'm not sure what those blogs have aside from managing to schedule millions of posts people want to read, getting the right contacts who love to sponsor them or whatever and just being about in the right niche in the right time I guess but I am not one of them and doubt I ever will be. But that's okay. My blog started for me so I am accepting that and trying not to be a jealous b*tch :)

8: Describe your perfect Night in.

Ohhh! Kids away for the night preferably or in bed being very well behaved for 12 hours; M&S dine in for 2 or whatever it's called (because they do some amazing food and puddings to be fair); a good film; possibly a little bit of alcohol and concluding with an epic session of... fully protected baby making practice (to put it nicely!).

9: Looking back, Do you have a faviourite post/topic that you have talked about?

Myself? LOL. I enjoy talking about my relationship ups and downs (http://unsignedmeblog.co.uk/lifestyle/surviving-narcissism-betrayal-and-insecurity/)as it allows me to get my thoughts out there without arguing with Mr Me. I think the next post I will enjoy the most is maybe sharing my miscarriage experience when I'm ready.

10: What are your links, where can we find you?

This is the tricky bit. So, I'm on Twitter obviously @UnsignedMeBlog and my blog. I'm also on BlogLovin (albeit being shown no love whatsoever so far) and can be found here: https://t.co/1v1jhC6X58 and I love Pinterest so I'm about to start one for this blog which will be UnsignedMeBlog (I hope).
I have Instagram which I don't really use as it's a bit hard to take interesting but anonymous pictures all the time ditto Snapchat. I should have Google+ but don't so I might look into that.

Quick Fire Round;

Bus or Train?
Both trouble my anxiety but definitely bus over train any day.
Beach or Pool?
Beach! Because it normally means I'm on holiday LOL
Cats or Dogs?
Dogs. I grew up with cats I loved but now they make me sneeze and I just love dogs.
Bath or Shower?
So I grew up without a shower and thought baths were the best but I definitely wish I had a shower now - it's just so much more refreshing.
Pizza or Pasta?
This is so hard! I love Italian food and my family used to say I would turn into a pizza because I ate so much but I also love pasta (just not in cheese sauce because I hate that!). I'm going to say pasta.
Night in or Night out?
Night out for dinner and drinks.
Music or Movies?
Music everyday.
Fizzy Juice or Hot Drinks?
Hot drinks (I'm a tea and hot chocolate addict)
Chocolate or cake?
Chocolate cake...
Netflix or Amazon Prime?
Netflix

  1. Love her blog name! When I first started blogging I also went as an anonymous blogger without even posting a profile photo of myself. I've done that now, I'm still sort of semi-anonymous and very seldom post photos of myself, but I like it that way. I so agree with her, numbers isn't everything :)

  2. I love the blog name. I was semi-anonymous at first. Only in the fact that I was too scared to tell my real family & friends but I'm totally comfortable with now. Fab interview questions x
