My Wreck This Journal

Back in 2013 whilst I was pregnant I came across a post on tumblr about a Wreck This Journal and it really intrigued me. I loved the idea of being able to create art and be destructive at the same time. It looked filled with amazing little tasks and I knew right in that moment that I HAD to have one. The Wreck This Journal is filled with different ways to be destructive in so many creative ways. I love that it's so open to interpretation and very easy to understand. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for some stress relief or new ways to bring out their creativity.

Book Synopsis;
"This is a new edition of Keri Smith's bestseller, with updated material Think of Wreck This Journal as the anarchist's Artist's Way - the book for those who've always wanted to draw outside the lines but were afraid to do it. For anyone who's ever wished to, but had trouble starting, keeping, or finishing a journal or sketchbook comes Wreck This Journal, an illustrated book featuring a subversive collection of suggestions, asking readers to muster up their best mistake - and mess-making abilities to fill the pages of the book (and destroy them). Through a series of creatively and quirkily illustrated prompts, acclaimed artist Keri Smith encourages journalers to engage in "destructive" acts - poking holes through pages, adding photos and defacing them, painting with coffee, colouring outside the lines, and more - in order to experience the true creative process. With Keri Smith's unique sensibility, readers are introduced to a new way of art and journal making, discovering novel ways to escape the fear of the blank page and fully engage in the creative process."

Since getting the journal I have been doing pages here and there, I've never really had a schedule for it, only done them when I've been in the mood for being creative or had some free time. But lately I have really been in the mood to power through some pages and let my creativity shine through. So today I wanted to share with you all some of my faviourite pages from my journal.

This "Stand Here" page is one of my faviourites for sure because I was able to draw my two faviourite shoes, I really love my comfort so I went for Converse and I adore heels!

I bought my Wreck this Journal on Ebay.co.uk from this link *Click Me* for around £6.00 and if I'm honest, it's one of the best investments I have ever made! You can also get the book from most book stores or if you do a simple google search a few different shopping results will come up.

 Like I said before, I bought it in 2013 whilst I was pregnant and I didn't really start doing a lot to it until last year (2015) But now I love to use it for stress relief.

Have you ever heard of Wreck This Journal? What do you think of it, is it something you would be interested in?

  8. This looks like something I'd need.... I often feel the need to be destructive yet artistic, but because I don't actually want to destroy anything I just muffle the feeling...

  9. I was given one of these when I was pregnant with Arthur as a bridesmaid to be present, the idea was that we wrecked it and brought it to the wedding. In the chaos of being a new mum, lack of sleep, everything else I totally forgot to finish it ( or even really start it after my initial attempt) but it was a great idea and i cant wait to find where I hid it, and now wreck it with the help of Arthur! #ablogginggoodtime
