Lessons my gran taught me

My gran is my hero. She is my rock, my world, my everything. I honestly love this woman more than world will ever explain because she has done so much for me it's un real. She's selfless, talented, inspirational and an all round great person. Growing up she really taught me some amazing life lessons so I thought I would share some of them with you all today because I just want to show some appreciation for the woman how is a total legend in ever sense of the word. The fact that she's my gran makes me smile form ear to ear.

Always be kind to others.

Growing up my gran made a point of telling me everyday that I should be kind to everyone I meet, even if they aren't kind to me. She would always say "karma" and at the time I didn't really understand but now I do. You get back what you put out into the world.

Never treat anyone like they are beneath you.

I was always told that everyone is equal no matter who they are because at the end of the day we all end up the same. Now I know she meant that we all die but I didn't then. I still always treated everyone with respect because that's how I would like to be treated. I never looked down on anyone because that's exactly what my gran taught me.

Compassion.

My gran has been through so much but despite the horrible stuff she's seen, she's never lost her compassion. My gran listens to everyone and tries her best to understand where they are coming from. My grans compassion towards others is truly one of her best traits.

Selflessness.

I really don't think you could meet anyone who's as selfless as my gran. She never puts herself first and at times it does annoy me, especially since her health is getting worse. She's always putting others first and making sure we are all ok before she thinks of herself. In a way it's admirable but I still wish she would just sit back and take some time to relax instead of being worried about all of us.

Always try your best.

My gran always told me that as long as I try my best and give something my all that it doesn't matter the end result because I still done my very best and that's all I can do. I was never made to feel like a failure or feel like I could have done better. My gran has always been my very own cheerleader through life.

If you can dream it, you can achieve it.

This is a big one for me because she's always taught me to strive for my dreams because I am capable of achieving them.

My gran has truly taught me a lot of things in my life, I look up to her because I know she is the strongest woman I will ever meet after everything she has been through. She's always got a smile on her face and is ready to help anyone! She would give you the shirt off her back if it meant helping. All my friends love her, she's such a wee granny to them and all of them really enjoy her banter. She's funny, positive and radiates kindness. If I could be even half the person she is, I would know I've made it in life.
