#MeetTheBeauties ││ Lifewithktkinnes

Hey Everyone and welcome to this weeks installment of #MeetTheBeauties. Today is all about Katie From LifewithKTKINNES

1: Tell us a bit about yourself.

Hey! I'm Katie and I blog about every random thought that enters my head so I guess that makes me a lifestyle blogger? I'm originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland but I've moved between Belfast and Scotland all my life. I'm now a student at University of Glasgow where I apparently study when I'm not blogging or lying in my bed hiding from the cold!

2: What is your blog name and how did you come up with it?

My blog name is Life with Ktkinnes. When I was younger, my nickname from my family was katiekinnes (pronounced katie-kin-s for anyone wondering) and so I knew I wanted that so it was slightly more personal to me. The plan was to blog about the things going on in my life that I couldn't talk about with friends and so that's how Life with Ktkinnes was born!

3: How long have you been blogging?

Well I set up my blog in the June of 2014 and was pretty dedicated to it until I went on holiday a month later. The I forgot about it again until the end of my first year of university. So technically, my blog has been around for almost 2 and a half years, but I've been actively blogging for 18 months.

4: Who/What Inspired you to start a blog?

I didn't know anything about blogging, and I didn't follow any blogs either. I just reached a stage in my life where I had no one to talk to, no one to fall back on, and no one I could get advice from. I was the weirdo in my year at school with no friends. So I turned to blogging and now I am so grateful that my so called friends ditched me back then because now I have met and talked to so many different amazing people I wouldn't know without my blog!

5: Do you have a tip you can share for new bloggers?

Quality over quantity. Don't stress about getting all those ideas up online as quickly as possible; take your time and enjoy writing them! Get your pictures right if you're using them, proofread over and over, and accept that it's going to take time to grow a following. I finally reached 100 followers in May 2016 - that's how long it took!

6: Tell us a random fact about yourself.

Hahah okay so a bit of a back story to this fact. When I was about 6 years old, I was running in the school playground pretending the wind was blowing me over. I somehow managed to go over on my ankle and was in agony with it. School told me it was just a sprain and sent me back to class. At the end of the day, Mum came to pick me up and I could barely walk my ankle was that sore and swollen. By the time she got me to the doctor's it was too badly swollen for them to do anything other than stick a bandage on it and tell me not to walk on it unless necessary. Fast forward to me aged 17 and a routine trip to the doctor when I mention that my 'bad' ankle gets sore in the cold, randomly gives way, and clicks when I walk. One physiotherapy session later, I find out I actually broke my ankle back when I was 6 and it's set in a funny way now! So yeah, my fact is that my right ankle isn't set properly and I can randomly fall at any moment simply because it decides to give up on me.

7: Is there anything you know now that you wish you knew when you started blogging?

Twitter is your best friend. I had twitter when I was at school so I could follow celebrities but only found out this summer that promoting your blog on twitter was a thing. This lead to the discovery of twitter chats and the world of wonder! So yeah, I wish I had known about Twitter sooner so I could've met my best friends Jordanne and Francesca sooner. And yes, you're now included in my best friends!

8: Describe your perfect Night in.

No one else in from about 4 in the afternoon. Marks and Spencer's Crispy Chilli Beef in the oven while I light a fire and gather blankets and pillows and supplies. After an early dinner, I would have a long bath surrounded by candles and a glass of wine nearby. After a bit of a pamper session and nail painting and the likes, I'd curl up on the sofa in the blankets with a Christmas movie on TV, a bad of malteasers nearby, and my phone in hand.

9: Looking back, Do you have a favourite post/topic that you have talked about?

I have 3 that I didn't enjoy the task of writing but they're my favourite posts in that I was opening myself up to anyone who read them. An open letter to my mum, Well Then, and Your Closet were three of the hardest posts I have ever written but they're my favourite because I poured all my emotions into them and felt I connected with my content for the first time in ages.
