2017 Summer Beauty Trends

2017 Summer Beauty Trends

Every year I love seeing the latest beauty trends, it's fascinating to see what's in fashion even though sometimes I may not be the most fashionable but I would like to think that I am getting better when it comes to beauty stuff like make up and nails. Today's post is all about the beauty trends that I am loving at the moment.

Now I just want to quickly start with this site which is for any of you who are professional nail technicians, beauty therapists, hair stylists or even a student studying under these fields. Check out Ellisons nail salon supplies, They have so much choice on their site in terms of products and professional nail supplies but they also have stuff for beauty and hair. I actually showed this site to my best friend Lisa as she is a professional nail technician (btw her work is amazing and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my nails now) and she is just taken by the site and how much supplies they stock so is going to be ordering from them soon and will let me know how the process goes.

Ellisons also released an eBook about this summers beauty trends and I must say that I really enjoyed reading it! I was nodding along and learning new things at the same time. It's been a really interesting read as it has a Q&A bit filled with some information that was very useful to me. This eBook also contained some of my favourite trends this year and that's what I am talking about now.

Dewy Skin.

I have to say that I was never really a fan of the matt skin look purely because I just couldn't achieve it but I applaud anyone ho can. With my skin type it's much easier for me to create the dewy look so as that's now in this year it's made me a little more fashionable which obviously makes me feel great.

Tanning.

I guess tanning has always sort of been around but I have noticed that it's been talked about a lot more when I watch youtube stuff, masterclasses with beauty therapists, stylists, the lot. I have always loved a good tan, I can't be tan enough! I love how it makes me look, I love my dark hair and tanned skin. Now I am partial to a sun bed or two but I know not to over do it so I tend to go every few months for around a week (I have 3 in a week) and that can keep me topped up but on top of that using fake tan's are a much better way for me to look how I want. I only got my first in shower gradual tan last year and I first used it a couple of months ago... I have to say that I LOVE it!

Hair Removal.

I don't know if it's just me or not but this year I have noticed an increase on hair removal adverts, products and treatments. 2017 seems to be filled with it from blog posts to events and I for one am really excited about this. My personal preference is no hair, I like my legs freshly shaved/waxed, My public area has to be hair free and no under arm hair for me please. I don't know why but I just can't deal with it, I hate the way it makes me feel and I would love to just say feck it and let it all grow and not have to worry about shaving but personally I just don't feel that way. With hair removal becoming such a big trend it's great to see all the products on the market, it's really opened my eyes to the amount of ways you can remove your hair.

Plaits.

Plaits seem to really be in this year and now that my hair is getting so long I actually enjoy having plaits in my hair more often. I really love having a couple of thin ones in my hair when it's straight because I love the look it gives. I also really like fish tail plaits, granted I'm not amazing at them I do enjoy having a wee go and having my hair styled that way.

Glitter Everything.

I love glitter... I mean, I LOVE it! Ever since I saw BLOW do the glitter roots on hair I was hooked on incorporating glitter into hair styles for things such as gigs. It seems that this year glitter has made it's way into more of the make up side and I am totally ok with that. I am yet to try out any bold glitter looks but I intend to before the year is out.

So that's the beauty trends this summer that I am absolutely loving! It's just simple things but they really help me feel amazing and I am glad they are trends this year.

  5. It's crazy how many trends are about! I love those that come and go, just as much as the ones that always seem to stay around. For me I love plaiting my hair, maybe that's because it's always been really long. I still wish I could do a French braid though...

  6. Glittery everything is definitely a trend that I can get onboard with! Gorgeous glittery festival hair with makeup to match always looks stunning! I wish my hair was long enough to plait, I'm growing it out of a bob right now so I can't wait til I can style it properly! I love a good tan in the summer too, I'm off on holiday tomorrow and I plan to be beautifully brown when I get home hehe! Fab post as always Jordanne!
