Xtava 5-in-1 Curling wand.

Curling my hair is literally one of my favourite things to do. It helps boost my confidence as I just love how I look with curled hair plus after having short hair for soooo many years being able to do it now fills me with joy so when I was selected to review a curling wand naturally I was jumping with joy (no, literally) So today I am here to talk to you all about the Xtava 5-in-1 Curling wand.

First off, I am just going to tell you some information about the curling wand and then I'll get into my review!

This 5-in-1 set has 5 interchangeable ceramic heads to help you achieve different looks and there are 9 temperature settings between 90-210c with universal dual voltage 110-240V. This also has a 60-minute auto sleep mode and comes with a heat resistant glove plus travel case and comes in such a luxurious looking box. They also have rapid heat technology and 8'10 360 degree swivel cord. There are 9 different waving setting between 130c - 210c, for a more delicate look start between 130x - 150c or use this for fine hair. For normal hair, it's safe to use 150c - 190c and then 190c - 210c for thick or coarse hair. Please note that these barrels don't have a cool tip for maximum surface area.

Now that I have all the technical stuff out of the way, let’s get to this review, shall we?

When I first received these, I was really impressed with the packaging, just by looking at the box these look expensive even though they won't break the bank. I opened the box to find another black box inside which held the goodies. I love the black box... I am so weird and really love packaging of like electrical products, the nicer the packaging the better my first impressions will be to be honest. The black box folds open and has a magnetic strip that clicks it into place, once I opened it I saw there was a travel bag which help all the barrels plus the wand, so far so good, I am impressed.... Although I was very sceptical when I seen their Heat resistant glove, it looks like an exfoliating one you can get out of most store like Superdrug, boots, semi-chem etc... so I really didn't have high expectations for this but the rest was way up there for me.

I like my curls to be quite loose, beach waves are probably my favourite and I noticed that I was able to achieve this look with two of the attachment... now I have to be honest, I have no idea what the barrels are called but there was a picture on their listing on amazon which I have edited to show you all which barrels I found worked best for my hair and achieved the looks I wanted, I have implemented a number system, 1 being my favourite and 5 being my least favourite.

Number 1 achieved my desired results each time I used it, I would say that this one would be my go to attachment each time. Number two was good but I didn't use the clamp bit as I found my hair kept getting caught in it which wasn't nice as I don't want my hair to break, I'm not a fan of the clamp bits but when I wrapped my hair around the barrel not using the clamp I found my results were quite good, hence why that's number two. Number 3 was great for doing my hair the night before so that I could wake up and have flowing curls, I really liked the look this achieved. Number 4 and 5 to me weren't that great for my hair, I didn't get the curls I wanted, I found that they fell out quite quick after using these barrels but I think if you wanted to achieve a soft curl then these would be good, I just really like my hair to stay curled for a few days which normally happens for me anyway, I just find that the bigger the barrel the faster my hair un-curls if that makes sense.

I do have to say, I really like this whole set, it’s easy to use, the instructions are clear plus the heat resistant mitt DID WORK! Now I know I said I was sceptical but I was proved wrong, it works better than the one I got with my BaByliss curling wand. I didn't feel any heat come through it but my one con for it is that it gets quite itchy on the hand so I found myself switching between that and the one I already had quite a few times. If they could fix the itching problem it would be a solid winner in my eyes.

All in all, I am impressed... I really like the type of curls I can achieve with this plus the fact it's temperature controlled is one of the best part's as I really don't like using too high a heat on my hair. This would be a great Curler to get if you're looking for something that's versatile. If you would like to get your hands on one of these then ENTER THE GIVEAWAY! What's better than a free curling wand... and it's one that works fab!

  3. My hair is so stubborn to curl that when I've had it done in the hairdressers before, they've had to try 3 different barrels before they could find one that worked for my hair haha! So the fact that this product has so many interchangeable barrels is a big selling point for me! Great to hear that the heat resistant glove actually works too!
