#MeetTheBeauties - Twinklexthoughts

Hello lovelies and welcome back to another interview from my #MeetTheBeauties Series. This week I am showcasing Macey from

Macey is a blogger about to start her 2nd year of college (good luck! I have just started mine) Macey loves to read and you can find out some of her favourite authors below! Get ready to read all about Macey and find out more about the blogger behind the blog.

1: Tell us a bit about yourself.

My name is Macey and I’m 18! I’m about to start my second year of college. I am a History student, and I will be specializing in American History as it’s my goal to teach this subject to high school students. I made the choice to switch my major from English to History since I find history fascinating and more enjoyable, and not only that, I am super patriotic!! And while I do love my country very much, I have had a long love affair with all things British. Ever since I watched The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe at the age of 9, I fell in love with idea of travelling to England and that’s how that began. I love to read: Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle & Jane Austen are some of my favs.
Family & friends are very important to me, so I truly enjoy spending time with them. And the most important aspect of my life is my walk with Jesus, and I strive to serve & love Him & others more and more!

2: How did you come up with your Blog name?

I had a bit of trial & error with my blog name; it was originally “Macedonia Dusk” (Macedonia is where my parents got the idea for my name & dusk is just a pretty word & time of day haha.) I didn’t keep that for long, so I kept puzzling over it until “Twinkle Thoughts” popped into my head. It came to me as I was sitting in a car ride trying to think of something catchy & with some kind of alliteration, not very exciting or inspiring :’)

3: How long have you been blogging?

I started my blog back in Autumn 2016 and continued until Spring 2017 when I decided to take a break and just enjoy my summer & focus on my first year of college. I knew I definitely wanted to continue blogging, but I wasn’t sure when and how. I finally did start it back up a couple weeks ago, and I missed it so much!! *Technically* I’ve been blogging for almost 2 years, but it’s still not been one solid, chronological year. So it’s come to a grand total of 8 full months, but I know it will continue for many, many more.

4: Who/What Inspired you to start a blog?

When I started watching Zoe Sugg in 2013, I learned that she started off with a blog, and I thought that was amazing. I binge-read her blog & thought that it would be something super fun to have as a hobby! To go back a bit further than that, I remember that around age 10, I acquired a book written for kids, explaining how one could make their own website, with proper HTML coding & a full on guide for doing so. I wanted to do that (never did lol), but ever since then, the idea of having my own little space on the Internet was really intriguing, and Zoe’s blog showed me how I could actually do that!

5: What's one piece of advice you would give to someone just starting?

Have fun with it!! Whether it’s the design of your blog, the pictures you take, the social media aspect of it, and/or the actual writing process, do it for you & do it for how satisfied & happy it makes you. So long as you enjoy what you’re writing & posting about, it’s going to be an enjoyable journey!

6: Tell us a random fact about yourself?

My first celebrity crush was William Moseley, who played Peter Pevensie in the film adaptations of The Chronicles of Narnia :’’)

7: Is there anything you know now that you wish you knew before you started blogging?

Canva is the BEST website for creating graphics of all sorts!!

8: Describe your perfect Night in.

Being allllll alone, having a bath, doing my entire skincare routine, with at least 2 face masks. Candles on, an oversized t-shirt, a cup of herbal tea (preferably chamomile), and time!! Time for a full on jam out-dance session to Les Mis, One Direction, Queen, Harry Styles, Switchfoot, Bee Gees, etc; time for an episode of Sherlock or a LOTR/Hobbit film; time to spend reading a book (or two!); and time to write up a journal entry on exactly how happy I feel. And if it’s a winter or summer evening, even better!!

9: Looking back, what's your favourite blog post to date?

Actually, my most recent post – Summer 2018 Highlights – is! I recapped my fav parts of this summer, and since I had such a fabulous time (best summer yet!!), I really enjoyed writing it up & looking at all the photos from my trips & other special memories.
