#plasteritpurple For Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity

The week has finally come for me to start my fundraising for Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity in the form of letting little bear choose my clothes for the whole week!

I was recently contacted by a representative of the Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity asking if I would like to spread the word about their #plasteritpurple fundraising event that will run from the 1st to the 31st of October. All the money raised will be going towards funding cutting edge medical equipment, family support services and more. It's so easy to get involved as well! Head on over to glasgowchildrenshospitalcharity.org/plaster-it-purple to get your fundraising pack today. All you have to do is think up a fun fundraising activity/event and throw a purple spin on it! Here are some ideas of fundraising ideas that will be a lot of fun to do
  • A fancy dress day at work/college/school etc...
  • A super spooky Halloween party
  • A sponsored walk
  • A haunting bake sale with lots of spooky treats
  • Coffee morning
  • Karaoke night
  • Or if you have little ones, join me in letting them choose your clothes for a week!
Now onto what I'm getting up to, to raise funds for Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity

I decided that I would get little bear involved in the fundraising and tried to come up with a fun and exciting way that would have him intrigued and actually make him want to take part, that's where him choosing my clothes came in. Leon is always rummaging through my wardrobe, pulling out my dresses and such telling me he likes it so I just thought this would be a good way to raise money for a fabulous cause.

So far it's been fun! Leon chose a great outfit for Monday which consisted of my Nirvana top and culottes which actually went together well! And then for Tuesday he chose my leopard print pyjamas haha, that was a bit of an accomplishment for me to wear out, I concurred my anxiety, got through the day at college and doing a shop in Asda. By the end of the day, the weird looks I got didn't mean a thing.

Now for all the details and rules if you like of what I'm doing.
  • I'll be letting Leon pick my clothes from the 8th till the 12th of October. He has full reign over my wardrobe (within reason, I mean I'm not putting on my short Pjs to go to college in the cold weather! Haha) but he is able to choose from all of my clothes, even my Pjs, just not my short ones and I'll be getting all my shoes out as well so he can choose what shoes I wear.
  • Leon will be picking my outfit the night before and I'll be documenting it all so everyone can see what he chooses, me wearing it through my day and then my thoughts at the end of the day and I'll hopefully have all this put together into a YouTube video.
  • I'll be updating my Twitter and Instagram daily with the outfits so people can have a good laugh at what I have to wear haha.
  • I'll have a round up post to show how it all went as well, probably including the video in it and maybe some notes I take down on the experience.

If you would like to sponsor me as I wear clothes my 4 year old picks out for a week and put money towards an amazing cause, you can do so through my facebook post - all the money is going straight to the charity so you can be secure in the knowledge that they are indeed getting the money (not that I would't give them the money though haha) or you can donate through my JustGiving Page for the event which will be open until the 31st of October - justgiving.com/fundraising/ofaglasgowgirlplasteritpurple

  1. Wow, this is such a fabulous cause, Jordanne, and how cool that Leon gets to choose your outfits, haha, I can't wait to see what he puts together for you! Leopard pjs for an ASDA shop - you're far braver than me :) Seriously, well done you, for doing this fundraiser and also for conquering your anxiety, you're a fab role model for others, not just Leon. Will be heading over to your Just Giving page now xxx
