Tropic Skincare Review*

For the past two months I have been using Tropic Skincare and I am excited to share my thoughts on the products I have been using. I love a good skincare product, now that I am officially in my late 20's, I am taking the condition of my skin more seriously than I ever have before.

Please note that I was Gifted these products by Tropic Skincare but all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

Looking after my skin has become one of my top priorities, I have a specific routine now that I swear by and some of the Tropic skincare products are firmly in that routine as they work in harmony with my other products. Because I am all about looking after my skin, I want quality products that I can rely on and I can honestly say, that the Tropic products I have tried are great quality.

Tropic is a multi award winning Skincare and make up company that is natural, vegan and cruelty free. The products are freshly made right here in the UK using the most innovative and effective ingredients that mother nature has to offer. Susie Ma, the founder and CEO grew up in Cairns, Australia and was surrounded by an abundance of natural ingredients, her environment growing up has played a big part in the products created at Tropic.

When I first opened the package I was wowed straight away, I can definitely see elements of the tropic within the packaging which really beings everything together in a nice, cohesive way. The colour story is great, it's very eye catching making it perfect for standing out and grabbing a customers attention.

When I started to play around with the packaging, feeling it, seeing if it was easy to open or was I going to have a box lid ripped off and happily, there was none of that. I got into the products easily and was able to repackage them fine. The quality in the packaging feels really good, it gives me a luxury feel but it's not a snobby product that turns you away. As a consumer I really appreciate the thought that goes into the packaging and when you can tell there was design and thought around it, I love it even more.

Now, let's dive into what I thought about the products I used.

Tropic Smoothing Cleanser

When I first started using this cleanser my face was really broken out, sore and red which wasn't ideal and I found myself piling on the make-up even more so I needed a good cleanser that would actually take the make-up off my face without leaving any residue. This cleanser was created for all skin types and works by melting away any make-up and impurities whilst also providing a nourishing daily cleanse. What I love about this cleanser is that Tropic have a unscented version for sensitive skin meaning anyone can use the cleanser.

It smells great and the consistency feels nice, it's like a cream only creamier if that makes sense? I use 3 to 4 pumps and that does my entire face, even when I have  a full face of make-up, heavy or light. I massage it in to my skin, making sure that I get all spots and then I use the bamboo cloth that is also from Tropic. The cloth works great with the cleanser and makes a great duo.

Having used this cleanser every time I have had to take make-up off, and that is a lot, I still have quite a lot left and that is after two months. This is my new go to, I love the way it feels on my skin, it's a pleasant experience taking make-up off instead of scrubbing vigorously and my skin has improved which I suspect is because my face is getting a good clean.

How to use

Step one - Massage 2-4 pumps onto dry skin over your eyes, face and neck to dislodge impurities and stimulate circulation.

Step two - f you’re wearing makeup, rinse off with warm water and reapply another 1-2 pumps.

Step three - Finally, rinse your Bamboo Face Cloth in warm water, and wipe away cleanser and excess makeup.

Would I recommend this cleanser? Yes! 100%, it is great.

Ingredients (for scented): Aloe Vera Juice, Sweet Almond Oil, Golden Jojoba Oil, Coconut and Cassava Derived Emulsifiers, Plant Glycerin, Plant Derived Polyhydroxy Acid, Avocado Oil, Shea Butter, Soy Lecithin, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Green Tea Extract, Polylysine Peptide, Vitamin E, Essential Oils of Rosemary, Lemongrass and Eucalyptus, Gentle Preservatives from Star Anise and Basil, Sugar Beet Lactic Acid

Tropic Face Smooth Brightening Polish

I have also been using the Face Smooth Brightening Polish which is a natural exfoliator that instantly softens, smooths and brightens your complexion. The product is free from microbeads and has ingredients like Macadamia oil, bamboo silica and AÇAÍ BERRY.

This exfoliator smells lovey, it's quite a nice citrus scent almost and reminds me of holiday. The texture is what I would expect an exfoliator to feel like, a little rough but it also feels creamy, almost like the face cleanser. When using this as directed, 2-3 times a week I found it was leaving my skin a little raw so I changed to once a week and I found this is the best for me and my skin type.

When using this exfoliator I find my skin feels ultra smooth afterwards and normally stays that way now although within the first month my skin was getting used to the products and I was finding out what routine suited me best, now it just feels like the right combination and this exfoliator is part of.

How to use:

Step one - Apply a small amount onto wet skin 2-3 times a week, focusing on your t-zone and avoiding the delicate eye area.

Step two - Rinse with warm water to melt away any remaining exfoliating particles.

Would I recommend this exfoliator? Yes

Ingredients: Golden Jojoba Oil, Ground Tapioca Root, Avocado Butter, Sea Salt, Silica, Macadamia Oil, Coconut Derived Emollient, Bamboo Silica, Elderberry Extract Açaí Berry Oil, Vitamin E, Soy Lecithin, Essential Oils of Sweet Orange Lemon and Lime

Rainforest Dew Hydration Serum

"Bring the rich, renewing moisture of the Rainforest to your skincare routine with this soothing, lightweight serum, packed with super-hydrating plant extracts to leave your skin with a dewy, youthful bounce." - Tropic

This hydration serum from Tropic is probably my favourite product from the selection that I tried, I have found this serum has helped in keeping my face nice and smooth. I can't tell if it is the serum that is minimising my pores but since I incorporated this into my daily routine, twice a day, I have less dry patches and my pores appear smaller with my skin looking radiant.

The serum feels nice and light on the skin, I use 3 droplets straight onto my face then I use my fingertips to massage it in. I feel like this serum sinks in quite quick, after about 10 minutes I can put my make up on and it looks great plus since I have started using this serum, I don't use a primer anymore before make up and it lasts longer than ever before and looks like a more even finish.

I am pleasantly surprised at how much this serum has worked for me, it really is a staple in my skincare routine that helps keep my skin hydrated. It is lightweight, fast absorbing and has genuinely worked for me.

How to use:

Step one - Pat 3-6 drops onto freshly cleansed skin once or twice daily.

Step two - To refill, remove the lid from the Refill Bottle and replace with the pipette from your empty bottle. Do not wash the pipette, avoid using it across different products and make sure you dispose of the pipette after 12 months of use.

Would I recommend this hydration serum? YES!

Ingredients: Organic Green Apple Water, Plant Glycerin, Plant Derived Humectant, Prebiotic Ferment, Caffeine, Plant Derived Humectant, Hyaluronic Acid, Evergreen Fern Extract, Plant Peptide, Matcha Tea Extract, Ectoin, Maize Derived Polyhydroxy Acid, Tamarind Polysaccharides, Sugar, Cucumber Juice, Plant Gum, Vitamin B5, Mexican Hyssop Extract, Arginine, Alfalfa Leaf Extract

Bamboo Cloth

I was also kindly sent a Bamboo cloth to try out and I love using this with the cleanser as it helps take all the make up off when cleansing. The cloth is naturally antibacterial and helps to gently buff away dead skin cells. It feels really soft and I like that once it has been washed, it looks good as new. I would definitely recommend picking one up if you haven't already because it is great.

How to use

Step one - After applying your Smoothing Cleanser, place the cloth under hot water and wring out excess water.

Step two - Place the hot cloth over your face to warm and open your pores.

Step three - Gently massage away the Smoothing Cleanser using the face cloth to reveal soft, polished skin.

How to care for your cloth:

Always rinse your Bamboo Cloth after use and handwash with a mild soap/detergent once or twice a week. Do not put the Bamboo Cloth in the washing machine or tumble dry.

All in all I absolutely love the Tropic products I have used and all of them are now part of my daily routine which I will be sharing with you all soon. If you haven't already checked out Tropic Skincare then I highly recommend that you do so.

  2. They sound like really lovely products. Skincare as we get older is definitely important and I've had a skincare routine since I was 17 with a morning and night routine for my skin and this will definitely go through life with me. It's something about looking after your skin that makes you feel so fresh, clean and pampered!
