The Best Cartoons from the 90's

Birds eye view of an iPad Pro with a photo of cartoon network banner on it and some popcorn next to the ipad

Growing up I was obsessed with watching cartoons, my mum and gran always used to limit me on the amount of time I spent in font of the TV but for me, getting lost in cartoons or movies was one of my favourite things to do, that's probably why as an adult I have chosen to study film as its always been a huge part of who I am.

I'll always remember the mornings getting ready for school with cartoons on in the background. When I would be eating my breakfast, I had cartoon network on and I'll never forget the feeling of no cares in the world, just eating my Corn Flakes and laughing.

I found myself reminiscing the other day about cartoons from my childhood when I was watching little bear eat his porridge and he had his cartoons on. It's amazing how everything changes with the years, when I was a little girl I thought the same cartoons would be on forever, that they would never stop but here I am today, wondering what ever happened to Dexters Laboratory and Cat Dog. This got me to thinking, what were my favourite cartoons from my childhood?

I've talked a lot about movies on the blog but after I started to rediscover cartoons from  when I was a child, I thought it was about time they made an appearance. So, today is all about my favourite cartoons from my younger years, mostly from the 90's and early 2000's.

So, they will have to stay locked in my brain, a happy memory from childhood. 1. I loved Rugrats, Fairly Odd Parents, Hey! Arnold, Doug, and The Wild Thornberry's. I have still never seen an episode of The parents wouldn't allow it for some reason, aside from them being a family I have no idea what that show is about.

  2. Oh my goodness, these are a blast from the past! I think I watched almost all of these as a kid! My brother and I used to love putting cartoon network on early on a Saturday morning to watch together. In fact we made it through the entire Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT together - which was a lot of watching!

Thanks for reminding me of some much loved childhood watching.

    Em x

  3. I've seen about 19 on this list, I absolutely loved Dexter's Laboratory and Ed, Edd and Eddie! Cartoon Network was the best! x
