August To Do

Hello August! Can you believe it? August already and in two weeks Little bear starts primary two which my heart just cannot handle. July went and flew straight past I think, it was a very quick month.

But here we are, in August and that means lots of new beginnings. I've always loved August for the new beginnings, it's the season where everything sort of starts back up here in Scotland like schools, college's, universities and more. So, I want to make this month a good one, try new things, do more, and enjoy life. It's going to be strange not starting back another year of college, normally we start near the end of the month, that's probably why I'm chill right now about it but when little bear goes to school, I'll start to panic. But, life goes on and I will hopefully have a job, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I got my results back from my HND at the end of last month, I had been patiently awaiting them because our lectures didn't tell us a thing, so when they came I was ecstatic. I passed my HND with an A in my graded unit, I couldn't be prouder.

Anyway, it's time to take a look at my goals for the month before I start rambling on, this month I have a lot of "must complete" tasks which fills me with dread because I know there's pressure, so to keep it balanced I have put in a few self care ones.

• Buy flowers -  I got a beautiful bunch of flowers in July and it reminded me just how much I enjoy having them in my room, they always make me so happy. So, this month I'm going to be making a point of buying myself some.

• Work on video content - I have been working with video a lot more recently, I figured it was high time I put my skills to use so I'm trying to create more video content. This month I have a few ideas for some video content which I'm excited to get working on.

• Go camping before little bear goes back to school - We went camping at the end of July, it was only for one night to test the waters and see what it would be like with kids and see how busy it was. Thankfully the trip was a success and little bear LOVED it, so I would like to get him away for another couple of nights camping before he starts school.

• Start working on releasing ebook - I have two ebooks written, sitting on my hard drive doing absolutely nothing. I had a bad batch of imposter syndrome for a couple of weeks but now that I'm starting to feel a little better, I'm going to try get over my fears and release my ebooks. It's very scary.

• Get out with my camera more - I loved taking photos on our camping trip and it reminded me just how much I love going to beautiful lochs and taking photos. So, this month I was to get out and explore a little more, as long as I can and stick to the guidelines for the virus.

• Get Little bear ready for primary two - Little bear starts primary two this month and I am freaking out! How did he get this big? How is he going into primary two already? My heart can't take it. He is so grown up now, I'm very proud of the little man he's becoming. Anyway, I still have to get his school bag and such so that's the plan for this week, get little bears school stuff ready.

• Have at least two pamper nights - I know that August is going to be busy, I already have so much to do and very little time. Because I'm going to be busy, I have to remember to take care of myself, that's why I want to make sure that I am taking care of myself in order to put my best foot forward.

• Start decorating little bears room - When the hall was getting decorated, Little bear asked if he could get his room decorated, I couldn't have said yes any quicker because I've been trying to get his room decorated for the last two years! Every time I asked him about it he would refuse to it being redone, I kept asking but the answer was always no  no matter what I promised him. So, I am very excited that he's decided he wants it done. We went to a B&M to get some paint for the hall and when we did, he picked out wallpaper which is very much his personality haha, brick and skulls! I couldn't say no though, I promised him he could pick what ever he wanted, which in hindsight I probably shouldn't have promised incase he went for a completely black room with florescent lights and a disco floor.... that would have been a tough one to deal with. But I'm glad we have something he likes, it's going to make the room look a lot better when it's finished.

Now it's time to take a look back at July's to do list.

• Read two books - Well I managed 1! I ended up not being in the mood to read, but I read One of us is lying by Karen M McManus and I started One of Us is Next which is the second book in Karen M McManus's series, but I haven't finished it yet, hopefully I will soon.

• Get on top of my blog - I managed to get some blog work done but not everything I would have like to unfortunately but I'm going to be keeping at it.

• Use my journal more - Well, I kept up with my Journal, just not the one I was intending to. I started to work on my Wreck This Journal again which I've missed doing. It's been a lot of fun doing it and getting creative.

• Become a Brunette - So here's the thing, I bleached my hair, I bought professional brown hair dye and somehow my hair turned black whilst I was using the medium brown dye! I could scream because I spent a lot of time and money to get away from black hair only to have it again. Very frustrated.

• Apply for more jobs - I applied for a few jobs but I haven't seen a lot that suits my skills. But I'm going to keep going.

• Start decorating the hall - The hall is decorated! I'm so happy we got that ticked off the list because the hall looks great now, I love the transformation, it looks like  new house.

  1. Great set of goals! Good luck with them all, I'm sure you'll do great.
That must be so frustrating that your hair went back to black when you used brown dye! Might be worth seeing if it fades out a little with some washes maybe? Then if it fades go over it in a light brown and see where it gets you?

Well done on finishing the Hall too! From what I've seen you've done a fab job! I wish we lives near enough that I could rope you into doing my house, because you seem to have a natural talent for it!
