My Dream Bathroom

For years the Bathroom has always been my favourite room in the house, it's where I can relax for a little while without being disturbed in a big bubble bath, and although my current bathroom is ok, I have had my dream bathroom in my mind for what feels like forever and today I am working with an unlimited budget (in my head) to create my dream bathroom.

I've always said that the bathroom has to be just right if I buy a house, when S and I were looking before the pandemic hit I had a list of checks in mind that the bathroom had to tick if it was going to be a contender. I need plenty of space, lots of natural light, space for plants and room for storage like shelves and such, but if I had an unlimited budget my bathroom would be much grander.

I thought that I would take advantage of the sims and build my dream bathroom in a beach home I'm renovating. If funds weren't an issue, I would love to buy a home that has it's own beach entrance or a home that overlooks beautiful mountains which is why I would love thermal walk on rooflights over a terrace that goes over the water coming from the bathroom, so that I could walk out in my robe and chill after a bath or shower, it beats sitting on my bed in a towel. I would also love some infinity rooflights over the roof, maybe not a full glass roof like the one in the sims, but enough to let in light and allow me to watch the stars late at night. Then to top it all off the wall overlooking the sea or towards the mountains would be a full glass wall, ideally  toughened laminated glass to ensure it's stable as it will be a full window wall. Could you imagine those views? major heart eyes moment. I would go to TuffX Glass, toughened glass suppliers in the UK, to get all my window and glass needs taken care of, especially because I want the walk on rooflights and TuffX have 25 years experience in manufacturing of toughened and laminated safety glass.

As well as making sure I would have the perfect views to indulge in, I would also love a big space so that I could sort of cut the toilet and bath area off from each other but not completely separate them into different rooms. Ideally I could get some sort of room divider that looks like its build in that create the illusion of different rooms but is open enough as to not close them off from each other. These candle separators from the sims would be perfect and they would definitely have candles on display.

In the first section I would have a lovely built in sink area with plenty of cupboard space as I like the bathroom to be quite tidy and simple with some plants and candles on display, so having the cupboard space would allow me to keep things tidy whilst allowing me to have all my supplies at the ready. I realise this would be hard to do with a child, especially when they love to have mountains of bath stuff dotted around the place just incase they want to play with it... I'm looking at you here little bear, but if I was able to get my own dream bathroom, little bear would have his own as well.

In the bath section I would have a stand alone bath, now I would probably have one of those deep ones with the bath feet that look rather grand because I have always wanted one of them, I love the way they look but unfortunately there wasn't one I liked with the sims and how It looked so I went for this one and put marble around it and I have to say, I love it! The bath would be away from the walls, probably nearest the windows so that I can see out when I'm having a bubble bath, relaxing and enjoying life. It may sound strange I want to be able to have clear views in the bathroom but I plan to live in a remote area with no one around, so you know, my neighbours don't get a full show every day haha. I have always wanted to be laying in a bath, in the middle of nature and relaxing, so this would be as close as it get's whilst still maintaining some privacy. Because the bath would be stand alone, I would have a little show area build in with a half wall and floor drainage because those full showers that have the 4 glass walls make me feel enclosed, I don't know why but I don't like them, so this would be my solution.

As you can probably tell by now, I like the simple and tidy feel for a bathroom, a clean space makes me happy and the bathroom is my happy place so it makes sense that I would like it organised and minimalist. I don't like the clutter, so the bathroom wouldn't have many ornaments or decorations, probably some shelving so I can put some bath-bombs and candles out as well as those necessities like shower gel and shampoo. The bath tub and the design or the room with the separators would be the feature points and I would have plants everywhere, well, not everywhere but in spots that compliment the room, I would pass out if I got some long hanging plants growing down the windows like I got in the sims, that would be HEAVEN!

And that's my dream bathroom, I have loved creating it and putting it together in the sims! I am so jealous that my little mermaid couple (from the Avery Lineage) get to enjoy it as part of their new house renovation, I can't wait till the whole place is matching that aesthetic of simplistic with lots and lots of plants.

  1. I mean, if there ever was a dream bathroom - you got it! I love the fact that you did that design work on The Sims, makes me want to download it on my laptop and play again all day, which would not be such a great idea :)

  3. Wow! This bathroom really does look amazing! I love how you've separated the toilet from the bath as this is something I really would like to be able to do with my own ensuite. Well done!

  5. I miss my bubble baths, Jordanne. 🛀 We've only got a shower now in our house 😢 and I miss relaxing in bubbles with a gorgeous candle flickering away while I soak and read my book.
