My thoughts

I was kindly sent the warm compact to try out and I have to say, I am completely sold! The compact is a lovely size, easy to fit into a make-up bag or just a bag in general. It also has a mirror to easily apply your make-up.

Eyeshadow

The compact comes with 4 eye shadow colours that you can create a few different looks with, my favourite being a subtle smokey eye. The shades are; Gold whisper (which is my favourite), Melon, Olive and Cocoa.

I found the eyeshadows to be nice in pigment, very buildable to create what look you are going for and the wear time was great, I didn’t have to touch up any of the make-up throughout the day.

Highlighter

I am a sucker for highlighters! I really like adding a glow into my make-up look but it has to be just right. Not too dark but not so light that you can’t see it. So, I was pleased with the Colour Me Beautiful highlighter in shade Golden Sand as it’s that right amount of shimmer that blends in well.

I really enjoyed using it and I think it will become a staple within my make-up routine for sure as I just adored how nice it looks on my skin.

Blush

In this compact there are two different blush pans. One powder and one multipurpose cream.

I’m not a fan of cream blush or cream products in general if I’m honest, I much prefer powders to blend so I like that there are two options here so I can use what I like.

I also like that the cream is multipurpose so I used it on my lips instead. The shade is Sunset Glow and I think it’s perfect for a nice lip tint to brighten up the look if you don’t want to use a full lipstick.

The powder blush in shade Salmon is a lovely buildable colour that adds a nice hint of colour to the cheeks.

Lipstick

The lipstick that came with the compact is shade Red Velvet and honestly, it’s stunning. I really like red lipsticks, there’s something so elegant about them and this one is such a gorgeous colour.

It’s creamy in texture and glides onto the lips easily.

Organic Amaranth Oil

TheirOrganic Amaranth Oil is a great multipurpose product as you can use it with your food such as yoghurt or smoothies but I have also seen in reviews that some people have used it directly onto scalp, hair and even in beard oil!

I used a tablespoon of the Amaranth oil in one of my yoghurts and it was lovely. I quite enjoyed the earthy taste and it wasn’t overpowering at all.

The Erbology Organic Aronia Shots have to be my favourite of the bunch! I loved the taste of them and the colour was just amazing. After reading some reviews I decided to put one into my smoothie and the colour was so nice and it added a really nice taste to it.

For me the colour and taste made this my favourite but the fact that they are rich in free-radical-fighting anthocyanins and help contribute to glowing skin made them even more of a winner. I liked them so much I am probably going to buy a box of 12 to add into my routine.

My Thoughts

I was kindly gifted their blue NETT exfoliator and when I received it, I couldn’t wait to hop in the shower and put it to the test.

They say to add your soap or shower gel and get to work exfoliating your body. I found it very easy to use, getting to all areas was super easy and I really enjoyed doing my legs with it the most.

Once you are out of the shower or bath, it’s best to moisturise your skin to help keep your skin smooth and looking the absolute best it can.

Overall I really enjoyed using this, it was easy and I did feel like my skin had been given a good clean. I’ve been using it every-time I take a bath or shower now and it really does dry fast and once it’s been washed, it still looks and feels as good as new.

My Thoughts

My first impressions of the starter set were good, I really liked the simple yet effective packaging. It shows exactly what you are getting and everything is straightforward to use.

As it’s customisable I decided to go with the white refillable case and get the Coconut and Tonka – active scent which is the strongest strength. I’m someone who loves to be able to smell their deodorant throughout the day so I thought that going with the strongest would be the best fit for me.

In the starter pack you get the deodorant case and refill stick so you can get going as soon as it arrives. It’s easy to put the stick into the case and I liked that the scent was present but not overpowering.

I found that the deodorant glided onto the skin easily which I was very happy about as I’ve heard some people talk about natural solid deodorant being quite hard to apply. Thankfully that wasn’t the case here and I’ve been hooked since.

I can honestly hand on heart say that I love this deodorant and It lasts all day long! So they aren’t fluffing the truth when they state that it does and the fact I can control what scent I get and strength it is, is amazing.

If that’s the case, you have to consider buying them some nope products. nope are a new hair care brand that is offering more than just plastic and chemical-free products, they are also raising the standard of solid shampoo and conditioner bars.

I was so surprised to learn that every year, 520 million shampoo bottles are thrown away in the UK! This is around 10 shampoo and conditioner bottles for every British person. How mad is that?

The nope shampoo and conditioner bars last for around 60 to 80 washes and the bars last up to three times longer than a 250ml bottle of shampoo.

These bars come in three different collections –

My thoughts

I was kindly gifted nope’s Into the Deep Shampoo and Conditioner Bar Home Set which comes with a lovely hemu wood rack to keep your bars on.

The Into the Deep Shampoo and Conditioner bar set contain “relaxing properties of lavender and nutrients of seaweed to strengthen your hair and rebalance your scalp. Their natural plant chemical compounds have antimicrobial properties, which help regulate oil production, control dandruff and unclog hair follicles to promote growth”

I personally really like the colour of this set, it fits in well with my aesthetic for sure which is a major plus! Who knew shampoo and conditioner could be so aesthetically pleasing? Having used these bars a few times now, I can honestly say that they work very well with my hair.

I have thick, colour treated hair and sometimes I find certain products dry out my hair or cause my hair to get greasy very quickly but these nope products didn’t do that at all. My hair feels very soft and looks better as well, there is considerably less frizz. The shampoo lathered well and washed out fine too.

With the conditioner I found that it applied easily to my hair, washed out well and I definitely have this to thank for how silky my hair has been feeling.

I am genuinely sold on these!

At nope, all of theirshampoo bars are SLS free and made with sodium coco sulphate which is a gentle foaming cleanser from coconut oil. Their conditioner bars are concentrated with natural oils (jojoba, abyssinian and olive) and plant extracts that are selected for their functional hair care benefits.

I have been using Dermalogica skincare products for a while now, well over two years and I am still as obsessed with them now as I was in the beginning.

Hydro Masque Exfoliant

I adore the Dermalogica Hydro Masque Exfoliant as it always leaves my skin feeling super soft after use.

This masque exfoliates with Bamboo, hydrates with Snow Mushroom and delivers luminous, healthy-looking skin. It’s super easy to use and is fun to put on the skin.

You use it by massaging onto your face until the spheres disappear and leave it for 5 minutes. Once the time is up, simply rinse thoroughly and you’re good to go.

Biolumin-c eye serum

I’m such a sucker for a good eye cream and the Dermalogica Biolumin-c eye serum is one of my all time favourites.

I found that using this eye cream helped me look less like a tired mother and more bright in the mornings. It’s supercharged with vitamin c to outsmart visible premature skin ageing caused by your daily eye movements and environmental stress.

This serum glides onto your skin easily and a little really does go a long way. It’s lightweight and delivers a highly-bioavailableVitamin C complex to the skin around your eyes to dramatically brighten and visibly firm.

I was kindly gifted the Cosy Aromas Christmas Mini Melt Selection Box which is part of their Christmas range. It’s a lovely box that is perfect for sampling an array of different scents. It really would make a perfect Christmas present and an interesting take on the traditional selection boxes you get at Christmas.

The box is a good size, you get 10 of Cosy Aromas 25g Christmas wax melts to try out and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised at the size. You could easily get a few uses out of one pot.

My thoughts

As I’ve stated above, I love to go camping around Scotland. It’s a passion I picked up after the pandemic hit as I wanted to get some time away but didn’t feel safe enough to go abroad yet.

My Thoughts

I was very kindly sent out two PLAINANDSIMPLE t-shirts to try out. One in white and one in black, and I went for a large size.

The first thing I noticed about the tops is that they are very soft.

The material feels nice and when wearing them it was so comfy. No restrictions at all and they fit great.

I love that these t-shirts are plain but oh so perfect to have in your wardrobe.

A staple item for sure that will go with a multitude of different outfits. You can dress them up for a casual smart party or night out, or you can dress them down with a nice pair of jeans for a comfy look.

The possibilities are endless and you can rest assured that you’ll feel good in them. Not only from a comfortable stand point, but knowing that you are wearing a premium quality item that is good for the planet.

As the t-shirts are made to last, you will get a fair bit of use out of them before it’s time for them to be re-made into something new.

I have a larger chest so I decided to go for a large and the tops fit nicely. They don’t feel too big nor too small, just right and I feel good wearing them which is the main thing.

My Thoughts

I was given the chance to try out a RiSE box by Ben and Alice and I have to say, wow! I was very excited to try the coffee out and see what the box was all about.

In the box I received two different coffee blends. One from Big Dog Coffee and one from Curve Coffee Roasters. In the box there was also an Almond and Vanilla Fatt ketogenic cookie included which tastes so good.

Big Dog Coffee

The Big Dog Coffee is a medium roast ground Aelin Lau – Brazil, Sao Lucas with notes of milk chocolate, cocoa and peanuts.

This coffee was super smooth to drink, it went down very well and I could see myself drinking this thorough-out the day as I work.

You can definitely taste the chocolate and the after taste is delicious. The aroma is heaven as well, before I even made my first cup I was smelling the bag for ages as it’s lovely!

Curve Coffee Roasters

The other coffee in the box is a San Lorenzo House Espresso from Curve Coffee Roasters who have a cafe and general store in margate.

I found this coffee to have a good kick to it, it’s one I would personally drink in the morning to get me going and ready for the day.

It’s strong but I like that. My gran also said this was one of her favourites and has had a cup each morning since I got the box.

It has a lovely fruity aroma but I couldn’t personally taste the fruit in the coffee. It’s a nice robust blend that I’m sure any coffee connoisseur would enjoy.

My Thoughts

I was kindly sent the Dog and Hat October Box which features two bars of chocolate from Guppy’s Chocolate and two bags of coffee. One from Horsham Coffee Roaster and one from Plot Roasting.

Upon opening the box I was intrigued as I do enjoy trying different types of coffee. So I couldn’t wait to get stuck in.

Horsham Coffee Roaster

The Horsham Coffee Roaster in blend Yellow Honey, Costa Rica is the perfect coffee for autumn. It has a lovely, smooth and sweet taste that goes down a treat with notes of raspberry, caramel and red apple.

I found that this coffee went down well, it’s definitely a smooth blend that’s very pleasant to drink. I like that even leaving it in the cafetiere a bit longer doesn’t alter the taste, just a bit stronger but still a very nice coffee.

Plot Roasting

The other coffee in the box is the Plot Roasting washed micro-lot that is exclusive to Dog and Hat.

This coffee is the perfect blend with complex floral notes and flavourings of raspberry and stone fruits with a rich sweetness like cane sugar.

I would definitely call this a morning coffee, one that’s going to give you a kick and set you up for the day.

I didn’t personally get a fruity taste from the coffee but that might just be my pallet. It wasn’t bitter nor too sweet, in the words of Goldie Locks, just right.

I really liked the selection of the October box and enjoyed trying the coffee that had been sourced for it. The chocolate bars also went down a treat.

I especially liked the white chocolate bar as I’m not a huge fan of dark chocolate so I only had a little piece.

The bar didn’t go to waste though as my gran adored dark chocolate so she had that with a nice cup of the Horsham Coffee Roaster.

I would definitely recommend giving the Dog and Hat subscription a try. It’s the perfect gift for anyone who enjoys their coffee and likes to be a bit adventurous.

I found the quality to be really nice, easy to hold and eat with. The straw is good as well, a much better alternative to paper straws as I hate how they just disintegrate in drinks and hit off my teeth (yuck!)

All the teas taste lovely, but my absolute favourite has to be the Pina Colada tea! It’s my favourite type of alcoholic beverage so I knew I was going to enjoy it in tea form.

But, I was super impressed with how much taste was bursting through from the first try.

I have started with Losing Eden by Lucy Jones and oh my lord, I am ready to run outside and inhale every part of this world. It got me thinking, although I have been getting outdoors more, I am not doing it nearly enough and I’m not connecting with nature, not like I want to anyway.

The fact that Tim has created a book club designed to get you in touch with the great outdoors through reading and being part of a wider community is so refreshing.

After everything we have been through I think it’s a genius concept.

I have very kindly been given a copy of Branches of my Tree coffee table edition and I am just wowed by how stunning the book is.

Poetry and prose books are among my favourite to read.

I love how much the words can connect with everyday people, how you can be drawn into a different world from the words on the page.

I particularly like being able to pick up Branches of my Tree and being able to start anywhere.

It helps to take a little time to reflect and connect with the words in-front of me.

There are different sections such as Friendship, Being a mum, Life’s truths and more that will all mean something different to each person who reads it.

I personally fell for the Being a Mum section.

As a mother myself I find that I use my journal to document a lot of tidbits I think about and Fabiha transported me to that head space with her words.

I genuinely cannot recommend Branches of my Tree enough.

It would make a lovely Christmas gift, especially in the coffee table edition. With a simple yet striking design, it is sure to capture the reader’s heart from the get go.

I was very kindly sent out a Curiosity Journal to try so that I can be confident in my recommendation.

And I have to say, I am completely wowed by the quality and effort that has been put into the Curiosity Journal.

With a high quality hardback design, this journal looks and feels like luxury. It’s a great design and the fact it’s bright yellow just screams happiness to me.

Sunshine yellow is one of my favourite colours as it emotes happiness from the get go. Going with this bold colour choice couldn’t be more fitting.

Within the journal there are many sections that are used to get you off the ground and start your journey to a more curious and confident mind.

With quotes throughout as well, it’s a fantastic way to keep you motivated and I really like that you can go at your own pace.

One of the main things that stands out to me with the journal is that you are guided, it’s not simply a journal where you get it and are left to your own devices not really knowing how to effectively use it.

This journal guides you through the experience with helpful tips and explanations throughout.

I also really like that there is an attached thin fabric bookmark that helps you keep your place.

My thoughts

As someone who adores all things stationery and can never have enough notebooks or notepads, I have fallen in love with Glitter and earth’s range of products.

I was kindly gifted their Planner and Notepad set that features a beautiful nature design.

When I unboxed the package my eyes were treated to a feast.

Everything was perfectly wrapped and I could tell that a lot of love had gone into everything, right down to the string used to tie it all together.

I have been using the Classic weekly planner a lot, it’s been great for mapping out my week and keeping me on track to get things done and remembering important to do list items.

The notepad has been a great way to keep my thoughts in check as I have been using it to make lists for my blog content and any ideas that I have as I keep it next to my bed with a pen.

It’s super easy to grab and jot some things down to help declutter my brain.

I also love the design and quality of these pads.

The sheets are easily tearable but strong enough to hold on if I accidentally drop the pad or brush against it which is a nice feature.

All in all I am in love with my Glitter and Earth items.

My Thoughts

It’s no secret that I did and still do absolutely adore my beautiful fur baby, Teddy.

He was the most amazing little guy, for 19 years he was by my side, my little shadow who was there for me through everything.

So, when I got the chance to have him turned into a little Scottish Gentleman by Paw and Glory, I was over the moon.

Teddy sadly made his way over the rainbow bridge on June 5th this year and I’ll be honest, it’s been hard to come to terms with.

I am still very much grieving this loss.

With all this in mind, I can’t believe how amazing it is that I now have another keepsake of my handsome little guy.

Paw and Glory have done an amazing job with his portrait and I genuinely cried as soon as I saw the proof.

My Thoughts

As someone who is enjoying getting outdoors a lot more and going on adventures, I was very eager to try out the PhoneHug.

I was kindly given some PhoneHug products to try out and I have to say, I’m already 100% obsessed with them.  Little Bear (my son) has also enjoyed using one so he’s claimed the blue one for himself.

The PhoneHug is very easy to fit to your phone and once it’s one, it’s secure. But, it’s also really easy to get off which was a worry I had.

I thought that if it’s so easy to take off, surely it’s easy to come off your phone when you don’t want it to? Luckily that isn’t the case.

Now, I’m not exactly happy little bear did this test, but it helped a great deal in seeing how secure this product is.

He decided to take his phone into his room with the PhoneHug attached and the lanyard, and he swung his phone so fast around and around.

My face dropped and I told him to knock it off instantly, but the phone stayed firmly in place, in the PhoneHug.

Ok, so I should point out that I don’t have an iPhone, but I have been sticking the GripTight™ Wall Mount to a bunch of surfaces to really see if it does indeed stick to them.

My Thoughts

I was very kindly gifted a ChargeTree Swing to test out and see for myself how handy this tech gift is. Upon first impressions I was so pleased with how sturdy the ChargeTree swing is.

I was worried that it might topple easily but that’s not the case at all.

The charger is very robust, easy to set up as you literally only need to put the little rubber shelf on so that it stops your phone slipping and that’s it.

Then you plug the cable in the back which has a USB-C fitting at the other end that will go into a USB-C plug or can be connected to a USB-C port on a computer.

I personally hook mine up to my Mac so that I can charge my phone while I’m working.

It’s actually plugged in right now as I write this. The charge time is fine, it’s not as quick as fast charging for my phone but it only takes around 2 and a half hours to go from around 20% to 100%.

With the ChargeTree Swing you can charge up to 3 devices at once which eliminates the need for three different cables.

There is a spot at the back that can charge an item like AirPods and then the little fold out arm at the side will charge an Apple Watch.

I was kindly sent out a pair of theEdifier TWS1 Pro True Wireless Stereo Earbuds to try out and I have to say, I am sold on these.

As someone who likes to stick their earbuds in and get to work, I really appreciate a good pair that can stay in my ears and deliver a seamless sound experience without me having to adjust them every few minutes.

I’ve been there all too often with earbuds that fall out or feel uncomfortable and their audio is lacklustre just for good measure.

So, I am very picky when it comes to the earbuds I will use.
