September To Do

Ahhh September, one of my favourite months because it’s my Bithday month! YAY! Also, this is when I start getting halloween decorations in and preparing for autumn, the best time of the year! Anyway, I’m back today with my monthly to do list.

I really enjoy my to do lists, they help me stay organised, it’s a point of reference for me so I can keep myself on track and make the most out of the month. It’s a busy month for me, not only is it my birthday month, it’s my grans as well! Fun fact: I was meant to be born on my grans birthday but I was exactly two days late, we were born at the same time, 3:30pm and we both have the same birth mark Haha my gran is exactly 44 years and 2 days older than me. This is also the month that all my car stuff is due so I’m going to be busy getting that sorted but I have the help of Emsworldblog post Insider Tips │ 10 ways to get cheaper car Insurance to hopefully get a really low insurance quote, wish me luck!

• Book my car in for MOT – My cars MOT is up on the 21st of this month so I have to get my wee clio booked in for her MOT. I’m thinking I’m going to do a pre one so that I can get ahead of any problems if needed.

• Finalise car Insurance – I have been looking at car insurance the past week or so and I am getting pretty good quotes, the no claims bonus is a god send! I now just have to finalise my insurance but I’ve got some things I want to try first before I settle. (UPDATE: I saved £418 on my insurance thanks to Ems tips!)

• Tax my car – My cars road tax is up this month so I have to tax the car as well, the Joy’s of being an adult! I hate having to do all these things haha

• Make sure little bear practices – Little bear has a grading this month so I want to make sure he’s keeping up with practicing at home, he loves his little club he goes to twice a week. Him starting taekwondo was the best thing ever because it’s helped him come out of his shell and be more confident.

• Get birthday presents for Gran – I still haven’t got any presents for my grans birthday… this is very unlike me! Normally I have everything bought months in advance but due to not having the funds I’ve had to wait. I honestly have no idea what to get her, she has everything. Maybe an experience? A spa day or weekend away could go down a treat!

• Buy a hard drive – I’ve been planning on moving all my documents and photos off of my current hard drive because it’s really old, I’ve had it since I was 17 and I want to make sure I get it all off while I can. It’s lasted me well but I’m worried I’ll loose everything if I don’t, so I want a new hard drive specifically for keeping my photos and such on.

• Take blog photos – I am seriously running low on blog photos even though I took over 400 the other week lol I want to make sure I get a big batch done because with college and everything else, I rarely have the time for anything anymore.

• Drink more water – I must, must, MUST drink more water. My skin is suffering for it and I feel sluggish all the time, must stop that! I don’t drink fizzy, sugary drinks, I stick to rubicon or tea mostly but I could really do with upping my water intake.

• Get some autumn candles – I have seen that tkmaxx have autumn/halloween candles out already and I am DYING to get my hands on some because hello, they are so pretty!

Now let’s look back on Augusts To Do List and see if I managed any or all of them….

Go School Shopping –
I managed to get everything for him in time! I’m not a terrible mum, yay! Lol I’m so glad little bear loved everything, he chose his bag and lunch box, he loved his pencil case I got him and he is settling in nicely in school.

Go more walks –
Unfortunately August had been a bit of a bad month for my mental and physical health so I haven’t been able to get out on many walks.

Get my room in order –
I spent a whole day gutting out my room. I filled three black bags, I hovered everywhere, washed the floor, moved things around and made it a lot less cluttered.

Go shopping for college stuff
– Managed to get myself a bag for college and some books and pens but that’s about it. Cash has been tight lately so I had to choose carefully what I needed first and what I can wait for.

Get some bath bombs –
After being at Glasgow fort where there is a lush store, I’m kicking myself that I didn’t actually pick any up! Hopefully I’ll get some for my birthday.

Cook more
– Nope. Didn’t stick to this one at all Haha I made vegetable chow mein twice and that’s about that, I mean I cooked, it’s not like we starved but it wasn’t from scratch or anything.

Meet up with Lisa –
I had a lovely night out with lust at the beginning if August, it was so lovely to chill with my bestie and catch up, I’ve missed her so much! We sat in her car for 2 hours talking in the car park at Glasgow fort, there were tears, laughs and a whole lotta love.

Start looking at car insurance quotes –
I have indeed started looking at car insurance.

  1. I love these types of posts and good luck with everything! I've gotten terrible for drinking fizzy drinks again, and my skin is really paying the price, it's not a good habit at all. I'm so looking forward to having an Autumn candle shop too!xx

  2. Thank you so much for the mention sweet! I’m really glad it was helpful, that’s exactly what I wanted people to get out of that post 😊

I think an experience of some kind is a great idea for your nan! I always think memories and time with those you love are far more personal than any physical thing you can buy. Last Christmas one of the girls took us all to an escape room as our present, and another friend took all the girls to a little craft workshop so there’s loads of fun things to pick from!

    Have a lovely September!

    Em xx

  3. Oh my gosh I am the same with water, I really struggle with drinking enough! Can’t wait to buy more candles too😍

  4. Wow you have a lot of car related stuff to sort out. If you want to drink more water, I'd recommend trying cold infusions. They're sugar free and they just make your water taste all fruity. I've tried a few and would recommend either Tetley Lemon, Cucumber and Mint or Twinings Rose Lemonade. Really upped my water drinking since trying them. I hope you get everything done on your list x

  5. Ohhh i love reading people’s to do lists, it makes me motivated to get organised too! I hate when all my car things are due, so much money coming out at once and cars are so expensive! Getting autumn candles are definitely on my to do list this month!

  16. Cars can be such a pain to maintain, I hope the MOT goes well! I find carrying a water bottle everywhere with me makes me drink more even in the house. Hope you find the perfect autumn candle, I still have ones from last year that I haven't burned yet and I am so excited to get them out!x

  18. This post reminds me to create my own September to do's or goals. Happy Birth Month to you and your Gran. Also I am also in the lookout for the perfect autumn candle scent. Would love to hear what your favourite scents are.

  19. This is such a clever thing to do! It's fun to read for us, but we get an insight into your life and all the things you want to get done during the month. I myself need to drink more water too! It's so difficult for me though, because I'm so particular about the temperature of my water, haha. It has to be ice cold and only at the temp! I'm an odd duck, I know.

  20. Oooo these type of post are so inspiring and fun to read!👏🏾 I get really excited around this time of the year because it's September and that means Autumn is right around the corner!🍂 I also want to start drinking more water because it really clears your skin and keeps you energized throughout the day.💦 I too want to go more morning walks because it makes you more relaxed and sets a perfect tone for starting the day. Tell your grandma I said happy birthday!🥳🧁

  21. I love reading these type of posts! Looks like you've got some good plans ahead for the month. I need to sort out my room as well. It's well overdue. I hope September is an amazing month for you xx

  22. I can't believe it is already September! Good luck with all of your to-do list! Oh man, there are a lot of admin stuff to do with the car. Adulting is fun, hehe. For hard drive, you may want to look at cloud storage options. You don't need to risk losing your data if your hard drive becomes corrupted. Food for thought, hehe. Ooooh I can relate about getting the room in order. Thanks for sharing!

  23. We're more than a week into September and I've actually refrained from buying any candles so far, which is pretty good for me because anything Pumpkin Spiced always has my name written all over it.. 😍

  24. Love posts like these! Congrats with getting school shopping done and little bear liked it! 😄 I have some of the same stuff for my September list as well like take more blog photos! I plan on writing lifestyle updates around school now that I have gone back to college but I keep forgetting to take pictures, as I don't remember that school can also potentially be a blogging photo Haven. Also really need to drink more water. I am so bad with it as well, I swear I only drink a bottle's worth a day which is absolutely awful! I hope you get it all done!!

  25. That’s a looong list! Although I love a good to do list. Since I’ve been on maternity leave mine has been so long it’s gone on hold. Roll on November and I’m going to start it again and tick some off. Well… that’s my intention! Love the stationary btw.

  26. I love these kind of posts, I always like to see what other people are working towards! I always hated sorting my insurance, MOT etc. out, it's the one thing I don't miss now I've not got a car. Good luck with getting through all of these, especially the autumn candle!

  27. It's my birthday month too, I'm so happy I'll be on holiday for my birthday this year. I hope you manage to get your insurance down, we saved over £1000 on ours, lucky to have one year no claims, don't know who we're with though my partner sorts all of that out. I used to love getting all my stationary ready for college, Home Sense and Paperchase were the best for me. Chats in the cars are the best just the two of you in a little bubble, no noise or anyone else around, perfect.

Hope you have a great birthday!
