Taking a Look at My August To-Do List | 2022 Edition

And just like that, we are in August! Doesn’t feel too long ago the school holidays had just started. Now it’s a week until Little Bear goes back to school and I’m left wondering where the time has gone.

Although, a part of me isn’t that sad because that means Autumn is just around the corner! My favourite time of the year isn’t too far away and I’m so excited.

But that’s a chat for another day. Today is all about my August To-Do list.

My August To-Do List

Figure out what I’m getting my gran for her 70th

It’s that time of year again where I find myself scrambling for ideas on what to get my gran for her birthday.

On 16th September she will be 70 so I really want to make this a birthday to remember as it’s a big one.

We are going away for a week to a caravan in Loch Lomond in September for both our birthdays (it will be my 30th!), so we already have that as plans. But, I’d like to do something else for her.

I have no idea what to get her or what else to do, so that’s my plan for this month. Make plans and get presents sorted.

Make sure LB has everything for starting back school

On the 15th Little Bear will be going back to school, into Primary 4 and honestly, I’m so not ready!

First of all, I don’t feel like the summer holidays have been long enough. And secondly, how is my baby already in Primary 4?! Feels like just last year he was a tiny baby in my arms, now he’s an 8 year old who is getting taller by the minute.

My heart simply can’t take it!

As little bear will be starting back school, I need to make sure I have everything in for him.

I’ve already got his uniform and school shoes, all that’s left is his school bag, lunch box, jacket and PE kit.

So, I need to get them in but I have no idea when I’ll be able to as we have covid at the moment. Hopefully I’ll be testing negative ASAP so I can take him out for the day to get all his school stuff.

Keep going days out

As I said above, I don’t feel like the school holidays have been long enough. This year they have flown by and we haven’t been able to go on as many days out as I thought we would.

Don’t get me wrong, we’ve done a lot during the holidays such as

  • Trip to the caravan
  • Beach days
  • Bowling
  • Cinema a few times
  • Multiple walks a week
  • Day out to Helensburgh
  • Day out to Cove
  • Day out in Glasgow
  • And more

But although we have done all these things, I still feel like we should have been doing more.

So, I’m making a point of going lots of days out in August when we are no longer testing positive.

Get some new clothes for going away

Like I mentioned in the section about my grans birthday, we are going away for a week in September.

It will be the first time all of us have gone away together in years so I’m really excited for the mini break. We’re headed to Loch Lomond to a caravan and I can’t wait!

So, I’d quite like to get some new clothes for going away.

I’m thinking about getting:

I don’t know what the weather will be like when we go, so I’ll be looking for clothes that can be layered if it’s cold but also suitable for warmer weather.

Work on blog content

I’m so glad I’ve got my blogging motivation back again! For a little while there I felt like I had hit a wall again with my content.

But, I’ve gotten the writing bug right now so my plan is to work on more blog posts to see me through the rest of August and September.

I want to have a good amount of posts finished and ready to go so I can focus on blog maintenance and improving my blog.

Work on Etsy store

As it’s been the summer holidays and we’ve been quite busy, my Etsy store has taken a back seat.

I’ve not been focusing on it as much as I should so I want to get back on top of that.

My plan is to get some more items listed and work on promotion for it as it was going really well. I was making more sales and finally saw an increase in traffic but it has come to a bit of a stand still.

The goal is to start making sales again and really push myself to work on making my Etsy store the best it can be.

Taking a Look at My July To-Do List | 2022 Edition

A look back at July’s To-Do List

Go Camping

Unfortunately we haven’t been able to get away camping like I had hoped. My OH has gotten a lot of work this year which has been nice but it’s meant we haven’t had a few days free to get away.

I’m hoping that we will still get the chance to go this year though!

Take a trip to the beach

Yep, ticked this one off! We took a trip to the beach and it was lovely.

It was a gorgeous sunny day and we had so much fun playing in the water and lazing on the sand.

Go on multiple long walks each week

Yes and no for this one. We have gone on multiple walks throughout July but there were a couple of weeks where we only went on a big walk once.

With the heatwave it just wasn’t a great idea, especially with Poppy as I didn’t want to take her out in blistering heat.

Go to the cinema a few times

Also ticked this one off! We went to the cinema to see Lightyear and The Rise of Gru.

Have a BBQ

Another one we ticked off! Although, the BBQ wasn’t at our house but instead at a friend’s. Still counts though, right?

Plan 2 Date nights

Unfortunately I didn’t get the chance for the date nights as my OH was working a lot, and when he wasn’t we opted for family days out instead. We did go on a double date though with my best friend and her husband.

We are hoping to go for dinner in the next week though.

Arrange meet ups with friends

Yep, ticked this off! In July I met up with friends a few times and it was lovely. There was even a night where my OH and I went on a double date with my Bestie and her Husband to see Circus Extreme.

  1. Good luck with your list! I’ve just ordered a bunch of new school stuff for Charlie going into year 1! Got all the fun of naming it all over the next couple of weeks…
Sounds like your summer holidays have been lovely so far! I hope you recover from covid soon so you can enjoy the rest.

  2. Good job on churning out blog content Jordanne. Even with your busy schedule you are keeping up with publishing content. I am traveling quite a bit again. Doubling down to write posts feels more challenging but creating content and networking are both priorities, even as I hit the road more often these days.
