December To Do List | 2020 Edition

I’m really late in putting out my monthly to do list this time round, this is mainly down to my own confusion when it came to scheduling posts and my mind being fixed on my Gift Guides, but better late than never right?

This is the first month I am taking part in blogmas and I have done it in such a strange way. I was meant to put out a “Welcome to blogmas” post but my gift guides were a little messed up with waiting on some products to be delivered which never came so I had to re-arrange them around and they ate into the first week of December.

But, my gift guides are now all out and I can focus on Christmas content more now for blogmas which is super exciting! This will be my 8th post for blogmas and had I had my head in the right frame of mind I would have been putting blogmas in the title but I didn’t, so I’m not sure I should now. No matter though, posting every day is good enough and for my first year I feel a lot more organised than I thought I would be.

Anyway, today is all about my December to do list and I was trying out the format of a monthly look back but this month I am skipping that as November wasn’t really that exciting, it was mostly a lot of work, nothing exciting to report so instead I am going straight into my To Do List for this month.

• Do more Christmas crafts – I love doing crafts with little bear, we have so much fun getting lost in it and creating so I really want to do more of that this month. I have actually ordered a D.I.Y christmas tree decoration kit from Etsy with has some laser cut wood in different festive shapes so that Little bear and I can decorate them and put them on the tree. I have a full pinterest board filled with some Christmas craft ideas and I am very much looking forward to trying my hand at them.

• Do some festive baking – I love to bake and during October I re-discovered my passion for it whilst making some Halloween themed treats which I spoke about in my Halloween Baking post. So, I have gotten in a load of Christmas themed baking items to make cupcakes, gingerbread cookies and more. When I was in B&M they had a big betty winters range again which is where I got the Halloween ones from, so I thought I would pick up more as I did enjoy the cupcakes we made but this time I opted for the decoration bits and bobs instead of the kits, I just picked up some sponge cake mix which I will use for making the cupcakes and I got gingerbread mix plus cookies mix.

• Get work finished for 15th – I really want to take two weeks off at Christmas, now that I am running my own business full time I feel like my brain never shuts off. There have been many nights where I have stayed up until about 4 in the morning working on different things because I just physically cannot stop. So, I am making a point of getting work finished up for the 15th so I can truly enjoy the festivities instead of hunched over in my computer chair surrounded by multiple empty mugs.

• Have a Christmas movie night or two – Much like Hallotober, when it comes to December I really enjoy themed movies nights. So, this month I want to have a few movie nights with Little bear where we watch a few festive movies. Some of my favourite titles for watching at Christmas include; Elf, The Santa Clause, The Grinch, Home Alone and many many more.

• Enjoy the festivities – I generally just want to enjoy the festivities, I feel like this year calls for that more than ever because it’s been one horrible year filled with so many awful things and I just want to switch off from it this December if I’m honest. I want to be filled with joy, I want to really embrace everything Christmas instead of feeling stressed or rushed.

• Make 6 sales – I have been working really hard on my business trying to create new products for my store and I would like to make 6 sales before I finish up for my two week holiday as this would mean I have hit my over all sales target for the end of the year and would help me in terms of bills etc… Being 100% responsible for my income after getting money from college is a little terrifying because if I don’t make the sales I can’t pay the bills or buy food which is just, it really is terrifying.
So, I would love to make 6 sales before I take time off to cut that worry out. (PS. I never want anyone to buy from me because they feel they HAVE to, that will never enter my mind, I want people to buy my products because they want or need them, you should never buy from someone just because you feel like you have to, to help them with sales and that will never be something I want.)

And there you have it, my December to do list. It’s not a big one this month as I plan to take two weeks off from worrying about getting blog content sorted, work and the general pressure of everyday life so that I can spend all the time with my little bear, and doing festive activities. I hope everyone has a good December, lord knows we need it after the mess 2020 has been.
