I’m not the most confident driver, so having a driving playlist gives me that extra boost of confidence on the road I need. The right song hits and suddenly I feel like I can take on the world.

I live my life through music. 

I sing in the shower with my Feel Good Playlist, I write blog posts with my Let’s Do This Playlist, and I soak up the sun with my Summer Playlist. 

So of course, I had to create a driving playlist. Without it, every trip would feel incomplete.

A driving playlist isn’t just background noise though. It keeps you calm on stressful roads, lifts your mood on long drives, and transforms boring commutes into mini concerts.

My Favourite Driving Memories with Music

Back when I was in college, I used to leave a little earlier just so I could take the long route. 

Why? Because it gave me more time with my driving playlist. 

I’d add songs, swap tracks out, and keep the playlist feeling fresh. It was my own little ritual, and it made those everyday drives feel like adventures.

Now that I don’t spend as much time in my car, I don’t update it as often. 

But here’s the thing, because I packed my driving playlist with so many different songs, it never feels repetitive. 

Every drive still feels exciting, whether it’s a quick trip to the shop or a longer road journey.

What Makes the Perfect Driving Playlist

For me, a driving playlist needs to be packed with energy. 

Slow songs just don’t cut it unless they have an epic vibe, like Somebody Else by The 1975. 

What I really love are tracks with strong bass and catchy choruses that I can belt out without shame.

The best driving playlist should also mix up the genres. That way, every song feels fresh and hits differently. 

Some days I want indie rock, other days I’m craving pop bangers or throwback classics. Variety keeps it exciting, and honestly, it makes me want to drive just for the music.

These artists never fail to get me singing along, even if I’m wildly off key. And honestly, that’s the whole point of a driving playlist!
