My June To-Do List

Happy June everyone. Another month into the year and this time we are half way through! I could honestly cry at the thought of Christmas only being 199 days away which is just mind blowing. But we won’t go there right now.

So far I am already 110% done with June, it’s been a crappy start and honestly, I’m ready for it to be over and it’s only just begun. Unfortunately on the 5th Teddy was put to sleep.

If you don’t know who Teddy is, he was my beautiful fur baby that has been with me for 19 years. I got him when I was 9 years old and from the moment he entered the house, he stole my heart.

He’s been battling a few health issues and unfortunately it was his time. I have a post coming out in a few days that will be a tribute to him so I won’t go into too much detail here.

But he was a huge part of my life and it’s heartbreaking now that he’s gone.

Anyway, enough of the sad talk. It’s time to take a look at my June to do list.

June To-Do List

Go Camping

For my other half’s 30th I planned a weekend away camping just the two of us. I was hoping to do it before his 30th on the 5th but the good weather came out of nowhere and we just weren’t prepared.

So, I’ve made sure that we are ready to pack up the car and go any chance we get before the school summer holidays start.

Because little bear won’t be coming it’s easier to do it when he has school so that he doesn’t get annoyed that we are away. I’m rather excited for some time for just us two, in nature and forgetting all about the outside world.

Get my hair coloured

My hair badly needs a refresh. My roots are in around 2 inches and the toner has completely washed out, so I definitely need some housekeeping done to my hair.

I’m hoping to get a darker toner this time, get my hair cut a little and get a bond pro treatment done. I’m very much looking forward to having it all done.

Create a head stone for Teddy

As I’ve mentioned, Teddy was put to sleep on the 5th. It was so heartbreaking but we knew it had to happen. We opted for an individual cremation so that we could get his ashes as that just felt like the right thing to do.

He’s been with us for so long that I couldn’t imagine not having his ashes to keep. I’m planning on having a ring made with some of his ashes incorporated and then scatter some in the garden as he loved to laze about in the white flowers, soaking up the sun.

So, I thought that making him a headstone that we can place down where the ashes will be scattered would be a nice thing to do. Somewhere I can go and talk, where I can remember him.

Create some new sets of nails

A few months ago I done a huge batch of nails so that I wouldn’t be caught off guard after a two week stint of having no nails on and none ready to put on.

I’ve mentioned it before, but I just don’t feel like myself if I don’t have my nails done. Well, that batch have ran out now so it’s time to get creative and have a night creating some new patterns and such.

Have a clear out

With Teddy being gone, I feel like I want to clear everything out. My room, little bears room, the storage cupboards, everywhere.

I’m not sure why but I feel the need to clean and get rid of a whole heap of junk. Maybe I just want to stay busy, maybe it’s long overdue but whatever it is, I’m looking forward to a full on cleaning day.

Workout at-least 3 times a week

In May one of my goals was to do at-least 30,000 steps a week and I absolutely smashed that goal! Saying I feel proud is an understatement, especially since I wasn’t moving much at all during lockdown.

So, my next goal is workout 3 times or more a week. I was doing it everyday for around 3/4 weeks there but I noticed a huge burnout because I was pushing myself too hard.

I’ve not worked out in two weeks now and I can already feel the difference of my body slowing down a little more. It’s time to get back to the work out, I just won’t be overdoing it this time.

Create a photo album of Teddy

One of the first things I done when Teddy passed was order a huge heap of photos on Snapfish.

I want to create a photo album dedicated just to him, filled with photos of Ted and all of us with him. It might sound like I’m being extra when talking about what I want to do to commemorate Teddy, but he was my shadow for 19 years.

He helped me deal with the death of my mother and great grandfather. He was there for me through all the heart break, through the miscarriages, through the dark times and more.

When I say I loved him with all of my heart, I mean it. Teddy wasn’t just a pet, he was a family member in his own right.

And that’s my June to do list. If I’m being completely honest, I am dreading the ones to do with Teddy.

Everything is a little raw still and I can’t believe my beautiful fur baby is no longer here. I am however holding onto those good memories and I’m extremely thankful for all those years we had together.

  1. Hi Jordanne,

Good luck with the camping – weather seems like it might be pretty good for the next week or so (good for the UK, anyway!).

I’d love to say that I knew what a ‘bond pro treatment’ was … but it would be a lie!! 😉

I’m sure that you’ll feel better with the regular workouts. Little and often is far better than going crazy.

For the things that are Teddy-related I’m sure it will be emotional for you but it will also help you to better remember him. I think the headstone is a lovely idea. I must say, looking at the pictures, he was a lovely cat.

  2. Camping sounds fun & I hope you have a good time!

It sounds like you’ve had a really tough month with losing Teddy, especially after having him for so long. I’m really sorry for your loss.

Hopefully July will bring happier times for you x
