My January 2022 To-Do list

My January 2022 To-Do list
The new year is here! We’ve finally said goodbye to 2021 which was just awful and somehow worse than 2020.
I mean, 2021 had the audacity to take the absolute legend that is Betty White just before it’s time was up. 2021 really said “take that bitches” didn’t it?. RIP beautiful lady, you really were the Queen of all Queens.
But, 2021 is over now and I’m so glad to see the back of it. Last year really wasn’t it.
2022 has arrived
With this new year commencing, it’s time to get set up for the year and look towards the future in the hopes that 2022 completely wipes the floor with the past two years.
I’m optimistic going into this and keeping all my fingers crossed that finally things start looking up. We are all due a bit of good luck, don’t you think?
Anyway, with a new year and new month here now, it’s time to get my January to-do list sorted.
This month I’m focusing on getting organised and on track to have a smooth start to the new year. It’s all about getting that productivity and motivation going again.
I’m also going to be focusing on my mental and physical health a lot more this year. So, I’ve added a few tasks to the list to help set that up. Since the first ever lockdown I’ve felt out of sorts, like I’ve lost who I really am. But I intend on taking the reins this year and turning that around.
Enough waffling though because I have a post dedicated to my overall goals for this year coming soon. Instead, today’s post is dedicated to my January to-do list.
Let’s dive in, shall we?
My January 2022 to-do list

Buy myself flowers
Every year I add buying myself flowers to my to-do list. It’s become a sort of tradition now.
I love flowers and it’s been a way for me to treat myself for years.
Having something I do just for me helps to remind myself that I am worthy of self-love. So, I plan on buying a fresh bunch next time I’m at the shops.
Get new products listed
I’ve got a whole range of new products for my etsy and Gumroad store just waiting to go live. They were supposed to be listed in December but with so much going on, I never got round to it.
So, I’m making sure I carve out time to get on top of that and get them listed because I’m super proud of them. It took me a while to find direction with them, so I can’t wait to finally share the finished versions.
Sort Little Bears birthday
It’s Little Bear’s birthday on the 12th January and I am not organised whatsoever! We were planning on having a big party for him with all his cousins and such, but with the new virus variant and rules coming into play, I’m not sure that’s feasible anymore.
Instead we will be having a party in the house, just us and making it a gaming theme. I’ve already got all the balloons and banners in, so might as well stick to that. Plus, he’s obsessed with gaming (in a healthy way), so I know he will love it.
No idea what to get him as presents though. He’s given no ideas or hints at anything. It’s going to be a mad dash trying to get it all together.
Continue Poppy’s training
Poppy’s training has been going really well. For only having her a month it’s amazing how far she has come. From knowing no commands, I’m very proud that she’s learned to sit, wait to cross the road and sit on her towel until her paws are cleaned.
She’s such a clever cookie and the fact she’s picking it up so fast just makes my heart burst with joy. Poppy really is the best dog, can’t believe we get to call her ours.
Anyway, I’d like to continue her training. Next up is to learn paw and work more on her recall. She’s really good but there are those odd times where she gets a scent and will not listen to a word. Instead she’s completely focused on following the scent.

Hit 10k steps each day
This year one of my main goals is to get back on track with my fitness and health. Over the past few years I’ve let that slip. Going from being constantly active to being stuck in the house was a bit of a shock, and I’m sure I’m not the only one.
My fitness is atrocious and I find myself getting out of breath quite easily these days. So, I’m working on changing that.
A goal I’ve set myself for this month is to hit 10k steps everyday. But, I understand that there will be days this may not be possible due to my Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue so I won’t be too hard on myself if I can’t reach 10k. After all, this is about looking after my health and resting when needed is a huge part of that.
Drink 2L of water a day
Another health related goal is to drink 2 litres of water a day. I used to be so good at sticking to this and could ace it no problem. But, as my brita water filters ran out I never bothered to buy more and I refuse to buy bottled water.
Also doesn’t help that I have a fear of straight tap water either. Don’t know why, but I gag at the thought of drinking tap water. Strange, I know!
Next time I’m at the shops, which will hopefully be today, I’ll be picking up some more filters for my jug. This way I can get on top of my water goal and cut down on carbonated drinks.
Finish off blog posts that are in draft stages
In December life got really hectic. We unfortunately said goodbye to a family member who passed away (I’ve been asked not to mention any names or such by their daughter, so I’m respecting their privacy) and I went through something a bit traumatic. So, I pushed my blog and social media to the side (rightly so) and focused on myself and my family.
Because I took a step back, a lot of posts I had intended to publish were never finished. There are some brand collaborations amongst these so I really need to get on top of that.
Side note: I am really thankful to these brands for being understanding as to why I had to take a step back. This just solidified in my mind that I made the right choice in working with them.
My goal is to have them all written within the next two weeks, photos taken and set up to go live.
Batch take photos
Again, as I took a step back I haven’t been able to get content sorted for my Instagram or get photos for the blog.
The plan is to set aside a couple of days and go to town taking photos. I’ve missed using my camera and getting creative, so I’m really looking forward to it.
And there you have it, my January 2022 to-do list. Fingers crossed I can look back in a month’s time and see it all ticked off. Having a to-do list like this really does help me stay on track. It’s nice looking back at the end of the month and seeing what I managed to get done.
With that said, I’m planning to bring back my monthly round-up posts so I’ll be sharing what I ticked off on my January 2022 to-do list in that.
What goals are you starting out with this year?
