Lush Space Girl bath bomb Full Honest Review [Updated for 2026]

When Lush first released their Space Girl bath bomb, I couldn’t wait to try it.

After seeing people online share photos of its planet like design (I say it looks like a planet, some friends say a flying saucer), I was ready to run into my nearest Lush store and grab a whole handful.

Space Girl Bath Bomb Review

When I first bought it I had no idea it was going to be discontinued, so I made sure to stock up before it was gone forever.

My original review ended up being a bit of a bittersweet goodbye. But in 2025, Space Girl is back, and you can now buy it online again!

So, of course I had to indulge in a little nostalga and pick one up to try out again on a rare “me day”.

Space Girl Bath Bomb – Love at First Sight

I first saw Space Girl in person at the Lush store on Sauchiehall Street while treating myself to a few new bath bombs.

Sitting in the window, sparkling under the lights with a dusting of glitter, it was impossible to resist!

I knew then and there that it was coming home with me, the photos I had seen really hadn’t done it justice.

The Nostalgic Scent

My first impression wasn’t just about how pretty it looked though, the scent won me over instantly.

It’s hard to pin point exactly why, but it took me straight back to my childhood.

It sort of reminded me of the days when my only worry was having enough pennies for the ice cream van.

There’s something about the fragrance that’s so reminiscent of buying jelly sweets on summer afternoons.

I’m such a sucker for anything nostalgic, and Space Girl delivered that in spades.

The scent was bold enough that you could smell it from a distance, unlike some bath bombs you have to hold right up to your nose.

It’s scent was that of blackberries with a hint of floral notes, a true feast for the nose.

Space Girl Bath Bomb in Use

As soon as this bath bomb hit the water, it burst into action. Fizzing away and releasing a swirl of gorgeous colours as it went.

I’d already used the Karma Bubble Bar while running the bath, which turned the water a rich, deep purple.

Watching the colours from Space Girl collide with that purple backdrop was absolutely stunning.

It honestly looked like a galaxy in my tub. I was so impressed with how well these two worked together that I repeated this combo with the other Space Girl bath bomb I’ve got tucked away in my Lush box.

The bath bomb zipped and swirled around the water which sent out trails of white that blended beautifully with the purple and flashes of red.

As it fizzed, the scent only grew stronger, which I absolutley adpred! Especially since I’d seen some reviews saying the fragrance fades in the water.

That definitely wasn’t my experience, if anything, it made the bathroom smell even more heavenly.

Space Girl Bath Bomb in 2025: My Updated Thoughts

Now that Space Girl is back and available online, I couldn’t wait to relive that magical bath time I  experienced years ago.

But sadly, my most recent bath didn’t quite match the memories and I was left feeling underwhelmed.

The colours that were once vivid and striking, felt much more muted this time.

And it didn’t fizz with the same enthusiasm either, it felt slower, almost hesitant to do anything.

Compared to the lively movement it had before, it was rather ‘meh’.

The scent was still pleasant though, but it wasn’t as bold or potent as I remembered.

Before, I could smell it from a decent distance, now it’s very faint, and it faded alot more quickly once it hit the water.

While it’s still a pretty bath bomb, I can’t deny it’s lost some of its former sparkle, especially in use.

The Return We’ve Been Waiting For… Sort Of

Space Girl will always hold a special place in my heart, and I’m still glad it’s made a return so new fans can try it for themselves.

But for long time lovers like myself, just be aware that it doesn’t live up to its former glory.

Final Thoughts

Everything about the original Space Girl bath bomb made bath time special!

The bold scent, the colours, and the fizzing excitement were the starring characteristics and I adored it.

Although it’s still a charming bath bomb to look at, it feels a little toned down from its original glory.

If you’ve never tried it before, it’s worth a go to say you’ve tried it, but it’s not the first I would recommend spending your money on.
