If you’re downsizing your home, it may be the case that you don’t have the room for all your current items.
Using self storage can be handy for allowing you time to properly sort through everything for making the decisions on what you’re going to keep.
It’s also great for storing the items that won’t be making the cut until you can sell them or get rid of them.
You need to vacate a premises before your new home is ready
Sometimes when you have to move home you may have a deadline of vacating your current premises.
But a problem could arise such as your new home isn’t ready yet.

That’s why using a self storage facility can be a huge help in negating some of that stress.
Self storage is an effective way to keep your belongings together and avoid having to spilt up items between family or friends homes until you can get into your new place.
I remember when we were moving to a new home in Ayrshire. We had no where to keep any of our belongings until we got our new house keys.
This brought on a lot of stress and we had to store items in my Granddad’s home, my mums friends and a neighbours who we were close with.
It wasn’t an ideal situation and had self storage been as common then, it would have been a massive help.

Self storage is a fantastic suggestion! I wish I’d known about it when we last moved, because moving day was a nightmare thanks to our buyers solicitor. They slowed up the chain by transferring funds late, which meant we had to hand over the keys to the new house 2-3 hours before getting the keys to the new house. Fortunately our buyers were reasonable and let us keep hold of a set of keys to keep moving out, but had they not been we’d have had to unload everything onto the street as all the cars and vans were already full!
