Working from home is such a blessing. I’m so lucky I get to do what I love from the comfort of my own home whilst wearing comfy clothes and no need to get made up. I love it.

But, there’s a downside. I need more Office space! Right now I’m confined to my room with my desk which isn’t ideal. Too many times I’ve looked at bed and crawled into it whilst procrastinating. Because of this I’ve made a plan to clean out my walk in wardrobe room, and create my own little home office.

Although I’m super excited to get the project started, I’ve found myself moping around as I can’t get my Dream home office out of my mind.

My Ideal Set-Up

Right now there’s a big constraint on space within my house. There’s just no room to create my Dream vision I have in my head. This won’t stop me carving out a proper work space, but it has got me thinking.

What would I do if space wasn’t an issue?

When it comes to creating my dream rooms/spaces, I take to The Sims 4. And my Dream Home Office is the latest room to be designed.

So, today I’m going to be sharing what my ultimate dream home office would look like if space and money wasn’t an issue by using The Sims 4 to create it.

My Ultimate Dream Home Office

When it comes to creating a home office, I’d ideally like a bigger room, maybe two that can be altered into one big room if possible, that would be a Dream!

Having this sort of set up would allow for specific sections in the room that would be organised for different needs.

There would be a section for my computer and desk. A section for shelves and cupboards for keeping files and such organising. I would like somewhere to keep equipment like my cameras, lights etc. And I’d love lots of storage.

I’d also love a specific section for creating videos and doing editing. Keeping the video/photo side of things separate from my main work computer would help keep everything organised, and I need organisation.

Work Desk Area – Section One

For my work area I’d love a nice big desk. Right now my desk is a little on the small side meaning I haven’t got tons of space to work with. It would be nice to not feel cramped all the time.

So, I’d like to get a good wooden desk set up with enough space for the computer, documents, products etc… to make everything run smoother when I need to write.

In this area I’d like to have some shelves and cupboards to allow for optimal amounts of storage. I’d love to not have boxes and folders laying everywhere like my spare room I’m converting to a home office at the moment.

There would have to be enough wall space to put up my calendars and message boared along with photos.

Custom Shelving

Within my work area I’d like to have some custom storage made like library shelving. Having Custom Made Office Furniture would mean that I get to have everything made to measure and to my specs.

That would be a dream, having space and storage that truly is fit for purpose.

Decorating

Although there are two sections in my plans, I would still like them to flow seamlessly. I would ideally want the same wallpaper all round and flooring. The main difference would be space and how it’s decorated beyond wallpaper and flooring.

In section one I’d like to have a lot of plants, hanging plants to be exact. I just love the plants in hanging baskets and the vibe they give off. My favourite hanging plants have to be Marble Pothos, String of Pearl’s and Hanging Ficus.

I’d also love to put out some of my favourite ornaments and paintings/pictures. Just make the room feel a bit more like me.

Video/Editing Area – Section Two

This section would be dedicated to my video making and editing plus photography side of work.

Having a space that still feels part of my home office but also its own space to give the creativity feel. Which is what I need for making creative content.

I would like a desk that wraps around the wall in an L shape. My thinking behind this is to have space for the computer to work and edit things. But, it would then have another part for setting up cameras and lights for taking photos and videos.

This wouldn’t be a huge area, just a little bit of space that allows for me to comfortably move around the space for creating content. This ensures I can get different angles and such when it comes to product photography.

Because I want this to be a space that can get transformed to fit specific needs, I wouldn’t have anything on the walls really. I’d maybe have a large texture painting as that would work in the background for some things. But, I would also like a portable green screen and a choice of coloured backgrounds for what I need.

I think it would also be a good idea to have a portable side table to use if needed as well. Storage In this section some more storage in the form of drawers would be the best option. I could keep equipment, SD cards, different props and more in them.

Having the drawers would be handy for so many things. Plus I’d like it if they were white as they could also be used for photography and videos. Two birds one stone as they say! 

Decorating

The whole vibe of this section has to be calm and aesthetically pleasing. I like to get creative a lot and if my space around me helps promote that creativity, then it makes all the difference.

As I said in section one decorating, this part would have the same flooring and wallpaper, so I’d like it to be something funky and unique.

There wouldn’t be many decoration items such as ornaments or paints because I don’t want clutter.

Floor Plan

As you can see in the floor plan, it looks like two rooms turned into one. There’s still a bit of wall left to create the separate areas in the room.

I think this sort of space would be great for a home office. There’s so much potential with a big space like this and that’s what draws me to it. I don’t like cramped spaces, so having a big room to work in would be *chefs kiss*.
