The other week, the lovely people at ACRE Cider sent me a few bottles of their #637 Rare Apple Cider to try out. 

I’m a huge cider lover, and more often than not, it’s my go to drink when I’m out. 

So, this honestly felt like such a treat. 

The timing couldn’t have been any better either! 

We had the perfect sunny day to sit outside, relax, and sip this delicious Rare Apple Cider which made it all the better. 

My Review of ACRE #637 Rare Apple Cider

Each bottle comes in a generous 500ml size at 4.5% ABV. 

I kept ours nicely chilled in the fridge before grabbing the bottle opener and pouring myself a cold one. Few things beat that sound of the cap popping on a summer afternoon, am I right? 

I’ll admit though, I really didn’t know what to expect at first. 

I usually go for dark fruits cider or a cider and blackcurrant mix because I personally love a sweet, fruity taste. But, this Rare Apple Cider completely surprised me! 

It’s beautifully balanced, not too dry, and still has that sweet, juicy kick that I crave. 

It went down so smoothly that I was genuinely so sad when I reached the bottom of the glass. 

I would have loved a few more bottles waiting in the fridge for later it was that good. This is one of those ciders that really makes you immediately want to stock up.

After trying ACRE #637 Rare Apple Cider, I think I’ve officially found a new favourite. 

It’s a proper craft cider made in the English countryside using carefully selected heritage apples. 

There’s just something so satisfying about knowing the story behind what you’re drinking,  and ACRE’s story makes it taste even better.

The makers themselves describe it perfectly:

“As the summer lasts longer in the Herefordshire countryside, the apples soak in the sun slowly, giving them their mellow English flavour.”

That makes complete sense after tasting it. You can tell this heritage apple cider from Herefordshire captures that slow, sunny English vibe in a bottle. The team at ACRE also say,

“The great story about ACRE #637 is the type of apples that go into our craft cider — rare varieties that create a unique and fresh taste.”

That freshness really comes through when you’re drinking it. You can taste the care and attention that’s gone into each bottle. 

It’s lightly carbonated with a medium to dry finish, much like an old Normandy cider, and always made with 100% heritage juice. 

They blend a secret mix of rare heritage apples that you won’t find in any other cider, and when they say “rare,” they truly mean it. 

Their orchard is tucked away in a hidden acre known only as No. #637, which adds to the mystery and charm.

I’m so so grateful to the ACRE team for sending these bottles my way. 

This Rare Apple Cider has a crisp, handcrafted flavour that feels like summer in a bottle. 

Even if the British weather isn’t cooperating, you can always pour yourself a glass, pop on your sunglasses, and pretend the sun’s blazing away outside.

It’s the perfect drink for a relaxed BBQ, a quiet afternoon in the garden, or even a little solo treat after work.
