First things first, you need a basket or bag to serve as your base.

I personally like to use buckets that you would take to the beach or a wicker basket that can be reused.

Tote bags are also a really great choice for kids or adults as it’s something we can all reuse time and time again.

To build up the base, use the likes of eco-friendly shredded paper as it’s perfect for helping the basket/bucket look fuller.

It’s also great for helping to keep items in place if you’re trying to make it look extra special.

I like to choose eco-friendly options that could be reused or recycled as it’s better for our planet and more sustainable.

Choosing a Theme

When it comes to creating your gift baskets, it’s always a good idea to think about a specific theme you want to go with.

There are lots of theme ideas you could choose from to personalise the baskets which adds that extra special touch.

Here are some of my favourite theme ideas.

The theme ideas are truly endless!!

Think about what the child likes and base it off of that, you can’t really go wrong with that.

Or, if you’re making for a few different children and want to have a cohesive theme across all baskets, then just simply build around Easter in general.

I personally like to make special unique ones for both of my boys. However, for the rest of the kids in the family, a simple Easter theme basket is my go to.

Easter Gift Basket Filler Ideas

Once you have your theme and overall vibe figured out from colours to baskets/boxes, it’s time to turn your attention to the items going into the baskets.

It’s a good idea to do a mix of Easter specific items and then little gifts that aren’t necessarily Easter only.

I find this works best as it keeps things on theme but also means items aren’t seen as ‘useless’ when the holiday is over.

Here are some of my favourite items ideas for Easter gift basket.
