AD – Guest Post | How to Incorporate Neon into Your Outfits This Spring and Summer
With spring just around the corner, neon colours can be the perfect way to add some interest to your outfit and start getting ready for the warmer weather.
Neon might not be having the impact that it was a few years ago, but there are still plenty of ways to incorporate these bright, fun colours into your outfits.
Neon has reigned supreme as a youthful, vibrant style since all the way back in the 1980s, and it doesn’t seem set to go anywhere anytime soon.
Bright neon greens, pinks, and other shades are in vogue for the upcoming warmer weather.
So, how can you incorporate neons into your outfits in a stylish way?
How to Incorporate Neon into Your Outfits This Spring and Summer

Pair Neons and Neutrals
One example of fashion design where neons and neutrals are paired well together is this Issey Miyake collection of womenswear at SSENSE.
Featuring a range of pieces with some bright, stand-out neon hues along with softer, more neutral tones, you can find the perfect balance for an outfit that stands out but isn’t too in-your-face.
The neon trend can seem a little daunting if you tend to prefer muted hues over bright and bold designs, but don’t be afraid to combine them for a stunning look.
Try finding some basics, like t-shirts and tops, in neon colours, and pair with your favourite distressed jeans or skinny jeans.
Add a Pop of Colour
If you want to use neon to add a pop of colour to an otherwise boring outfit, accessories like shoes or handbags in neon shades can be the perfect option.
A funky pair of shoes can be used to dress up any outfit immediately, and the best part is that, with neons being so popular, you can find almost every style in a bright hue – especially during the summer months.
Go for neon sneakers for a comfortable, casual look, or dress things up with a pair of sexy heels in a stand-out shade.
Add One Bright Piece
The neon trend can be difficult to get right at times as, too much, and you might feel overdressed or garish.
Adding one bright piece to your overall look can be a good way to get it right.
Pair a neon pair of trousers, top, or dress with other fashion items and accessories that are muted and understated.
For example, a colourful yellow pair of jeans or trousers will work well with a soft white blouse or t-shirt and white or natural sneakers, with a denim jacket.
Add Neon Makeup Looks
Are you looking to stick with plain and basic for your outfit, but want to add some interest to your overlook with your makeup? If that’s the case, then you’ll love neon makeup ideas.
There are tons of products you can use for bright, stand-out makeup, from neon eyeshadow pigments to neon lip glosses and lipsticks.
The trick to getting it right is ‘less is more’ – all it takes is a pop of colour to transform your overall look.
Neon is a fashion trend that has been coming back around for years, especially in the summer.
As we look forward to the warmer weather arriving, there are several great ways you can start incorporating these brighter hues into your looks

I don’t have any neon clothes or accessories as I mainly stick to neutrals, but it would be nice to add a pop of neon. Also, I love doing makeup looks, so it would be fun to do a neon makeup look!
I tend to stay away from neons and other colours like this as a pale, redhead … but, I think I could pull off something pink as it would be a great contrast with my hair. I think I’m going to have to find some neon to add to my wardrobe!
