This is one of my favourite go to night in date ideas because it instantly removes pressure.

No-one needs to cook and nobody needs to rush, win win.

You can simply relax and enjoy the evening together, having fun.

Start by setting up an area where you can both paint and put items like paint, paint brushes, canvases etc out ready for use.

I personally love doing paint your own mugs or something along that line as the items can be used everyday.

Next, get ordering a takeaway that you both love, my personal favourite is always pizza.

Then get the atmosphere sorted with some candles, soft lighting, and a playlist you both enjoy. Or, if you’re more movie inclined, stick on a film!

Treat it like background noise though, the aim is to connect with each other doing a fun activity.

The best thing about this date night activity is no real skill is needed, you can paint whatever your hearts desire and have fun doing so.

And at the end of the night, you have something you created together, which makes this one of those night in date ideas that feels both fun and memorable.

If you want night in date ideas that feel fun and playful, this one works every single time!

Making drinks together instantly makes the night feel a bit more relaxed with an edge of fun.

Start by choosing two or three cocktails or mocktails to try out for the night. We’ve tried a few from this post – 14 Easy Cocktails At Home.

Set an area up where you can lay out all the ingredients and items needed like a cocktail shaker set, I highly recommend a table of some sort for this.

We personally used a large coffee table in the living room by the fire place and sat on floor cushions.

This kept it intimate and cosy and it was honestly such a good night.

Pair this with a couples game that encourages conversation or laughter and you’re definitely in for a winning date night!

Question card games work really well with this activity as it helps keep you focused on each other.

Having a cinema night at home is a true classic for a reason! And it remains one of the easiest night in date ideas to pull off, yet it always feels comforting and romantic.

For this night all you really need is a good movie, snacks and snuggling, which is perfect! However, should you want to amplify the romance, here’s my top tips.

Start by choosing a movie/s that you both love for the night, or go with something completely new.

Then, once you know what you’ll be watching, it’s time to crank the home cinema night up a notch.

You could go all out with a specific theme such as a romantic movie night with faux rose petals, dark lighting, candles and wine.

Or, you could theme it to the movie and create snacks around it that fit the theme.

I also recommend a mini projector as it completely changes the vibe for the night if you’re not just sitting in front of the TV.

Set up blankets, cushions, and soft lighting as well no matter the theme, this makes it cosy and intimate.
