Taking a Look at My October To-Do List | 2022 Edition

Taking a Look at My October To-Do List
Well well well, October, we meet again!
I’m super excited that Hallotober has officially begun and Autumn is well and truly here.
With this being my favourite season and month, I’m over the moon. Our house is full of Halloween vibes, we’ve been watching more horrors and I’m living my best life grabbing as many Halloween/Autumn items I can from the shops.
To say I’m loving life right now would be an understatement.
So, as it’s my favourite month and we have lots on the agenda, I’m super excited to share my to-do list this month.
I’ve got a long one this time and I’m determined to tick them all off.
Let’s take a look shall we?

Taking a Look at My October To-Do List

Go away for a few days during the October Holiday
As the schools will be closed for a week this month, I really want to take little bear away for a few days.
My bestie L has given us access to her family caravan while she’s away to Dubai which I’m very grateful for. So, we’re planning to get away for a couple of days to relax and have some fun.I can’t wait to be cosy under a blanket watching movies at night while rain pours down (I mean, it’s Scotland, it’s bound to rain). And I can’t wait to spend the days out exploring with LB and Poppy.
Start more Halloween Baking
Every October I like to do some themed baking with little bear. We often make spooky cupcakes and scarily tasty cookies and the likes.
So, I’m making a plan to bake something every week with him.
I already have a few cake-mixes and cookie supplies, just need to pick up a few more things to keep us busy all month long.
Carve Pumpkins
Halloween just wouldn’t be complete without some pumpkins would it? I adore setting up the dining table with all our tools and the pumpkins then carving them.
It’s always so much fun digging the insides out to use in soup and creating some fun designs.
This year I’m thinking about getting a Ghost Face template and creating a pumpkin with his face but I’m not sure yet. I have so many ideas running through my head for carving pumpkins it’s hard to make a final choice haha.
Night Away for L’s Birthday
My friend L’s birthday is the 30th September so we are planning a night away to her caravan on the 2nd October.
By the time this post goes live we will have already been, but it’s on my October to-do list because I need to get prepped for it.
The plan is to decorate the living room area of the van with birthday banners and balloons to surprise her and set out her presents and cake. I really hope she enjoys it and we can just chill out celebrating.
Sort Little Bears Halloween Costume
This year little bear has decided he wants to dress up as Eddie from Stranger Things for Halloween and I’m so here for that.
When he came to me with his choice I could have hit the roof with excitement because he was by far my favourite character in S4.
So far we have a denim jacket which I’ll take the sleeves out, ripped black jeans, guitar pick necklace and white high-top shoes.
All that’s left is:
I can’t wait to see the look come together! Don’t know who’s more excited, me or Little bear haha.
Use Treadmill 4x a week
At the beginning of summer I splurged a little and bought myself a treadmill. This was to aid me in making sure I get my steps in and enjoy walking without the worry and stress of fibro kicking in while outside walking and finding it difficult to get home.
Having the treadmill allows me to stay active doing something I enjoy whilst allowing me to have full control of how long I do it for.
Thankfully it’s not been a purchase that sits about gathering dust as I do love using it. But, the past 4/5 weeks I haven’t been using it as much.
So, I want to make a point of using it more throughout the week, even if only for 15 minutes at a time.
With the dark nights and cold weather here, this will help me keep my steps up and help with fitness.
Have multiple themed movie nights
Every October the other half and I like to snuggle up at night and do some movie marathons. Horrors and thrillers are our favourite genres of movies and we both love Halloween the most out of all the holidays, so we make a big thing out of it.
This year I want to do it a little differently though by having themed movie nights.
I’m thinking along the lines of themed drinks and food to go along with the movies we are watching.
Batch take photos
Although I have a ton of photos saved up to use on Instagram as it’s not been working properly so I haven’t been able to actually post them, I need to get more seasonal photos taken.
I realised I haven’t done much in the content creation department when it comes to Halloween/Autumn.
So, I’m setting aside some time to fix that.
Hopefully by the time this post goes live I will have already done it as it’s currently the 30th September as I write this.
Create Halloween Inspired nails
With it being Halloween month, I really want to create some Halloween nails perfect for the occasion.
I have some nail art transfers with bats, skulls and other images that I’m hoping to incorporate into the design. Just writing about it right now has me filled with excitement because I love this time of year and all things spooky.
Ghost photoshoot with little bear
For the past couple of years, I have been doing Ghost photoshoots with little bear in October, and I have to say, I love it.
It’s such a fun experience we have together finding new places to visit and take photos of LB looking like a ghost. It’s also something that brings him a lot of joy which I love seeing, he constantly comes up with new ideas on what to do or props to use.
So, we have to get this year’s photoshoot planned and figure out where we will do the photoshoot.
Here’s a couple of photos from our 2020 photoshoot.

A look back at September’s To-Do List
Get ready for our week away
Happy to say that I did indeed tick this one off!
Our week away was lovely and we really enjoyed being in the peace and quiet with hardly any internet connection.
We enjoyed it so much, we are booking to go away again next year.
Organise my Autumn/Halloween content
Although I have stuff organised, I haven’t managed to get as many photos yet as I would have liked. Because of this I’m making a point this month to take lots of seasonal photos.
Buy some candles
Happy to say that I have indeed bought some new candles.
I picked up a couple of pumpkin spice candles, a candy corn candle and a couple of warm vanilla ones that have cute Halloween designs on them.
Create 4 sets of nails
Another one ticked off the list! I did indeed create 4 sets of nails to use in September and I am in love with the colours I used. My birthday ones were a lovely shade of pink with some gold glitter and they looked very pretty.
Definitely going to be using that one again and a warm caramel colour I got.
Organise a dinner to celebrate my 30th with friends
Unfortunately I didn’t tick this one off which I’m a little sad about, but I didn’t even try to be honest. There was so much going on in September that I didn’t have the desire within myself to try to get it all sorted.
Change home decor around to Autumn theme
Another one ticked off the list and I’m so happy because the house looks great.
Everything has been changed over and this year I’ve gone bigger in my room with Spooky Vibes balloons and pumpkin string lights perfect for Halloween!

“I’m living my best life grabbing as many Halloween/Autumn items I can from the shops.” 😂 I love it. I would say the same, but the day after Halloween when I go looking for half price goodies!
I hope you and your friend L had a lovely time out for her birthday.
Enjoy the Halloween vibes & spooky films, Jordanne! And I’m not sure when the school holiday is but I hope you have an awesome time getting away in your friend’s caravan, relaxing and having good times.
