I’ve put off travel for a long time, especially due to the pandemic and everything that came with it.
But, my mind is starting to shift back into that space where I want to make plans to go travelling again with my son.
So, I thought I would indulge in those travel fantasies today by sharing the top five places I really want to visit.
Let’s take a look, shall we?
Top 5 Places I Would Love to Visit

Venice
First on the list is Venice.
It’s been on my travel bucket list for an eternity it seems and I’ve always wanted to just hop on a plane and go see what it’s like.
I’ve seen so many people share their adventures of being in Venice and it calls to me.
As someone who just adores water, I love that it’s a city built on water with such rich culture and history.
I want to go on a Gondola ride, visit Doge’s Palace, stare at the gorgeous architecture, eat the delicious foods, mingle with the locals, I want to do it all.
It’s definitely one of my top places to visit and I hope that within the next couple of years I’ll have the chance to take my son to experience it all.

Iceland
Next on my list of places I would like to visit is Iceland.
I know there are many towns and villages that are great for travelling to in Iceland, so I couldn’t just pick one for this list.
It’s a place I want to see a lot of instead of just one city. My dream would be to take a month travelling around Iceland seeing all different places and experiencing the culture.

With so much to do in Iceland it’s been hard to whittle it down to a few things to talk about I would like to do, but I think I’ve come up with a pretty well rounded list.
Here are 7 things I really want to do and see in Iceland:
- Experience the Blue Lagoon near Reykjavík
- Whale watching
- See the Northern Lights
- Go to the Dynjandi Waterfall
- Glacier Snowmobiling
- Horse back riding
- See the Kirkjufell Mountain

Bali
Bali is another magical place I would absolutely LOVE to visit.
Ever since I saw so many amazing photos from a friend’s trip and hearing all about their experiences, Bali has been one of my top places to go.
My friend went travelling with her father and I was in awe of all the amazing ostiaries she had to share and the experiences she talked about.

This led me to look into Bali myself and from there I was head over heels.
From the breathtaking scenery to the amazing culture that just pours out of every corner, it captured my heart.
I would love to climb through the mountains, swim in the sea, meet the locals, visit beautiful buildings and so much more.
The thought of waking up to the views just makes my heart want to explode. As someone who LOVES visuals, I’m genuinely taken by all the spectacular scenery Bali has to offer.

Bora Bora
Next on my list is Bora Bora.
This was a places that wasn’t really on my radar until I watched a vlog on YouTube of someones honeymoon.
I was in awe of all the amazing views and the absolutely stunning water that appeared throughout the video.
That was when I realised I hadn’t actually ever thought about Bora Bora as a travel destination or looked into it, so that’s exactly what I done.
I decided to do a deep dive on what there is to do and I fell in love which earned it a top spot on my travel bucket list.

As I’ve already mentioned, I adore water, so Bora Bora really is up my street.
With so many water activities that could fill an entire trip, it will always be a place I MUST travel to.
Plus, it’s such an aesthetically pleasing place that takes your breath away just seeing photos.

New Orleans
Last on the list but by no means least is New Orleans.
If I’m being 100% honest with myself, I’m not sure if it’s a place I could actually visit, but I want to so bad!
This would have to be an adults only trip because the amount of walking I would want to do is unreal.
Although there are typically “tourist” things I would want to go do like ghost tours and see the amazing streets, there are also places I want to see that go deeper than tourism.

I love anything that is dripping in history and culture, and New Orleans is definitely one of those places.
It would be a dream getting to know a local and doing things they recommended that not everyone may know about.
Getting to know about those places beyond the typical tourist attractions is a passion of mine, I want to know their history, I want to be educated and appreciate them in such a pure way.
I think that’s why I was always drawn to real life documentaries when studying film and TV, because I think it’s important to expand our knowledge beyond our own bubble and appreciate different cultures and learn.
