Review │ Golden wonder bath bomb by Lush

I came across the Golden Wonder bath bomb in December of 2013 when I was shopping Lush's Christmas range in their boxing day sale. I was heavily pregnant, dying to find some bath bombs that would make my bath experience a little more relaxing and all the Christmas products were half price or cheaper. It's safe to say I was going a little over the top with my purchases, but in the process I came across this beauty of a bath bomb. I loved it so much on first impressions that I picked up 4 of them! And boy oh boy, am I glad I did.

I think I have a special spot in my heart for this bath bomb as well because when I was in labour I used Golden wonder in the bath to help relax me as my contractions were hardly even existent and I just needed a warm bath with a Lush bath bomb to sooth me & it done the trick, My full labour didn't come on until 7 at night after it. So this bath bomb holds special in my heart.

The Golden Wonder bath bomb truly is amazing because it looks just like a present, a beautiful, gold wrapped present with a big cream bow on top that reveals its inner beauty in the water. This bath bomb is very unique in it's design as there aren't any other products from lush that look quite like this one, Its gold lustre finish really adds some beautiful sparkle to this already captivating design. If this doesn't catch your eye... are you feeling ok? No, but seriously, I LOVE this design beyond words.

The size of this bath bomb is very generous indeed and is definitely one of Lush biggest bath bombs to date. For £3.95 the value for money is a winner in my eyes for sure. It's scent is very uplifting I feel which is great for the winter nights. For me the sweet orange oil really sines through, the citrus elements are very noticeable and I think that is why I love it so much. The scent isn't too strong though, I kind of feel like there is a musky scent to it, I'm not sure which ingredient in the bath bomb could give off this scent but I definitely smell it when the bath bomb is in use.

When this bath bomb hits the water it slowly starts fizzing away, letting the scent evaporate into the air creating a lovely uplifting atmosphere and all the layers start to ooze into the water. Each layer brings out a new exciting colour that seeps into the water to create swirls of beauty. What I didn't expect with this bath bomb was that Blue/Green would be the dominant colours in the water, I was convinced it would be gold/yellow when I first used this bath bomb and I was so very pleasantly surprised. Once the bath bomb has fizzled away the water turns a beautiful green colour with beautiful sparkles throughout and soluble paper stars that all dissolves in the bath which makes the clean up very quick and easy at the end of the bath.

If you have read any of my previous reviews of Lush bath bombs then you will know that I have never really been disappointed with how the water feels against my skin and this bath bomb is no exception. My skin always feels silky smooth and hydrated after use which is such a savior for me as I am prone to dry spots.

All in all this bath bomb is a seasonal faviourite of mine, I can NOT get enough of it (That's probably why I buy in bulk when they hit the shelves before Christmas) From it's beautifully flawless design to its unraveling layers when it's in the water, nothing about this bath bomb lets me down. If anyone is looking for a bath bomb that takes a good while to dissolve and really helps you relax on the cold winter nights, then this is the bath bomb for you.

So what do lush say? "Fancy a tipple? Cognac and zesty lime oils start a party of mood-brightening scents whilst sweet orange oil refreshes the senses. In the water, this present-shaped fizzer unwraps itself to reveal glittering golden lustre and a sparkling turquoise explosion. Don't wait until Christmas day to bathe yourself in festive luxury!"
