Creating The Atmosphere
When it comes to giving yourself the best Self-care night for peak pampering, you’re going to want to create an atmosphere. Creating an atmosphere for your night is super easy. Think of the mood you’re going for and build around that with the likes of scents, lighting and sound.
To help you create the most amazingly Indulging self-care night, I am sharing some self-care night ideas focusing on which mood you’re going for.

Self-LoveSelf-Care Night
Are you looking to throw yourself a love fest? Then try out these ideas for putting together a night in with yourself to remember.
Creating the right atmosphere is an integral part of the night because you want to feel loved and pampered. Why not go for a loving and romantic atmosphere.
Grab some Pink or red candles, or maybe even coloured LED lights to create a visual tone. Think of a romantic night for one and set up some candles around your room where you’ll be indulging in a pamper fest.
Next grab some wax melts, this will help create a heavenly scent throughout to add to that self love feeling.
Here’s some wax melts I would recommend
- Bougie wax melt chunks from Tribal Unicorn
- Prestige wax melt chunks from Tribal Unicorn
- Potions and Charms Wax Melt Pack from The Starlight Candle Company

Once you’ve got your lighting and scent sorted, it’s time to think of sound. I personally enjoy putting on some low music, preferably acoustic songs so I can mellow out.
Once the atmosphere is set, it’s time to pick the self-care activities.
For a Self Love themed night you could
• Write down all the things you like about yourself
• Why not Write a letter to your future/past self
• Create a gratitude list
• Indulge in skincare
• Give yourself a massage
• Watch a film with a boss female lead
• Do some yoga or pilates
• Create a jar of self love quotes
• Set a reminder with a self love quote with your alarm to wake up to every morning
• Have a solo dance party
• Create post-it notes with things you’re good at and stick them around your room

Ultimate relaxation Self-Care Night
Fancy yourself a super relaxing night in to pamper yourself and drift into pure bliss? Because same! I just adore relaxation nights, they help soothe the soul.
As I’ve said above, creating the right atmosphere can really help to make the relaxation 10x better. So here are some ideas for creating the most chill atmosphere.
Candles are great for creating dull lighting and playing with shadows. Much like in a spa, you want the room to be warm, both in temperature and light tone. The lovely warming light from a candle enhances those relaxation vibes.
Now you have your lighting down, it’s time to think about the sounds. I very much enjoy a good ambient playlist. You know, no singing, just beautiful instrumental compositions that make spas feel luxurious and calm. Here is a playlist that is perfect for relaxation self-care nights – Relaxation Playlist
With sound out of the way we can focus on scents.
Here’s some products I can recommend
- *Honeycomb & Bee wax melts in scents Snow Fairy and Lavender Escape from Midnight Melts
- Sömn Relaxing Sleep Mist from Grüum
- Sweet Dreams Pillow Spray by Feather and Down
I love having a good scent for relaxation, it’s an integral part of creating the perfect atmosphere. It’s even more important for those relaxing nights. So make sure you get your scents picked out ready to relax your night away.
Next up it’s time to think about what activities you are going to do. My personal favourite and one I recommend is a massive bath so you can lay in the water and have your worries melt away. Here are some products I would personally recommend to help you elevate your night.
Bath Products for a Relaxing Bath
- Relax CBD Bath Soak Salts from Essench
- Relax CBD Bath Bomb from Essench
- Starry Night Bath Bomb from Bubble Trouble
- LA LA Lagoon Bath & Shower Gel from Temple Spa
- Drift Away Aromatherapy Bath & Body Massage Oil from Temple Spa

If a bath isn’t your thing to kick off your relaxation night, here are some other self-care activities perfect for your ultimate relaxation night.
For an Ultimate Relaxation themed night you could
- Have a foot bath
- Go for a steamy shower
- Massage yourself with some massage oil
- Create an at home spa night
- Meditate
- Put on a face mask, lay down and listen to some ambient music
- Listen to some guided meditation
- Cosy up and watch a movie
- Give yourself a facial
- Pamper your hands and feet

Feeling your feelingsSelf-Care Night
Are you looking to have a night where you can just be in your emotions and let go? Then this is the self-care night for you to allow yourself to be in your feelings whilst also taking care of yourself.
Sometimes we just need those nights where we can let go and allow ourselves to be in our feelings. Holding back can make things worse and eventually we get to a boiling point so it’s important to have those times where you can let it all out.
Create mood lighting by only using candles or LED lights. Keep it dark and mellow your night out with scents that speak to you. Everyone is different in what they like so go for those scents that spark a feeling of joy or stillness in you. Some wax melts and candles I would personally recommend are below.
Here’s some products I recommend
- Rose Gold Champagne & Strawberries candle from The Good Aura Company
- *Pumpkin Spiced wax-melts from Melts and Felts
- Black Betty wax melts by The Starlight Candle Company
- Notting Hill wax melts from Tribal Unicorn
- Caramel & Pink Pepper Tinned Candle from Bomb Cosmetics

Having your atmosphere sorted, it’s time to think about some activities you can do. Personally I like nights that are slow and easy going. I’ll most likely stick on a romantic comedy or a sad movie like Marley & Me. Then I’ll get into bed in the dark with a few candles lit and then let the feelings flow.
It’s important to just let yourself do what you need at that moment. Obviously that’s personal to each of us, so here are some ideas that you could incorporate into your night.
For aFeeling your feelings themed night you could
- Watch a romantic comedy
- Write down your thoughts in your journal
- Read some positive affirmations
- Paint your emotions
- Watch a sad movie
- Create a jar of compliments to read when you are feeling down
- Take a hot bath or shower
- Create a pillow fort and watch movies
- Pour yourself a glass of wine and put on some moody music
- Let yourself cry
- Listen to an emotional playlist

Creating happinessSelf-Care Night
Looking to create some happiness in your life? Then a happy self-care night is the one for you!
Indulge in happiness and do those things that make your soul happy with a mood boosting self-care session. Although relaxation nights are important to help recharge our batteries, ones where we are getting ourselves motivated and hyped are super important as well.
I don’t know about you but happy self-care nights are always best done on a Sunday night to help get you pumped and ready for the week to come. Mixing in a bit of relaxation and productivity can help you feel upbeat and happy which is a perfect combination.
First off, start by creating the mood. Go for something light and airy with a twist of fun. A great way to achieve this sort of lighting is to use coloured light bulbs or LED string lights. It’s brighter than candles but not as bright as normal house lights. Having it a bit brighter is perfect if you are looking to get creative or write.
Once you have the lighting under control it’s time to think about the scents you want to use. I personally recommend going for those fun, fruity scents. I also love a good floral scent as well.
Here’s some products I recommend
- Tropical Twist Candle from Flamingo Candles
- Coming Out Of My Cadge wax melt from The Starlight Candle Company
- Watch The Sun Rise wax melt from The Starlight Candle Company
- *Miami Sun wax melt from Midnight Melts

Now that you have your atmosphere chosen and ready to go, it’s time to think about what self-care activities you’re going to indulge in.
The great thing about self-care is that it has such a broad spectrum of what comes under self-care. I see it as anything you are doing that serves you. So, think about those activities that make you happy, what makes you smile and feel like you are on top of the world?
For aCreating happiness themed night you could
- Create a list of achievements in your journal
- Make a vision board
- Read positive affirmations on Pinterest
- Listen to an upbeat Spotify Playlist
- Get creative
- Do some yoga
- Write a letter to your future self
- Create a gratitude list
- Watch some feel good movies
- Take a bubble bath
- Watch a motivational video
- Organise your week
- Make a 5 year plan
- Paint your nails
- Indulge in skincare

Some great tips Jordanne. I love how you’ve really broken things down! Something that really stuck out to me is writing things down that you like about yourself. It’s so easy for us to criticise ourselves that I think we often forget how much good there is in us. This is such a lovely idea & one I’m definitely going to be trying!

I really liked that you added journaling into your nighttime routine. I often journal in the morning, but I had never thought of doing it at night. Could be nice to sit down and write down some of my thoughts after a busy day!
