I LOVE cake. A few years ago I would never have made that statement, cake wasn’t my thing. But now, now I’m obsessed with cake, especially chocolate.
So, when I was asked if I would review bakerdays again, I jumped at the chance. Last time I tried their cake out, I was in heaven. It was super tasty.
Since my last review bakerdays have gone through a rebrand, updated their website and changed their product range. It was great when I last reviewed, but somehow they have managed to improve even more.
Anyway, without further ado it’s time to get stuck into my review and there is a giveaway at the end where you could win your very own 5″ letterbox cake from bakerdays.
Who are bakerdays?
bakerdays specialise in amazing cake making. On their website you can create unique and personalised cakes, boxes of cupcakes or helium balloons. It’s so simple to order through their website and you can create the perfect cakes for any occasion.
You simply choose a design, cake size and recipe! Then personalise it with your own photos and a message. It couldn’t be easier.
What’s great about bakerdays is you can create and order a cake to be sent straight to the recipient. All of their postal birthday cakes are hand delivered from DPD within the UK or across Europe. Once the recipient receives the cake they will get a surprise as the cake is delivered in a beautiful tin. As the cakes can fit through a letterbox, no signature is required and the postman can slip it through for the recipient to get a big surprise.
The bakerdays cakes are all made in Nottingham with extra love and care. With over 2,00 designs on their site you are sure to be spoiled for choice! But what’s even better is they are doing their part for the planet and all materials used can be recycled.
Bakerdays Letterbox cake review
Their 5″ letterbox cake comes in a beautiful tin that not only protects your cake, but looks stylish as well. It’s a stunning design which is great if you’re sending the cake to someone as a gift. I particularly liked that it was colourful and vibrant as that’s what represents special celebratory occasions.
I decided to go for one of their pre-made designs with flowers and a watering can as my gran absolutely loves gardening. As her birthday is on the 16th September I thought this would be a great treat for her. It was simple to choose the design and have my personal message added as well, the whole process was quick and easy.
The design is lovely on the cake, a little fuzzy but nothing that takes away from the overall design. It still looks great and I could tell my gran really liked it as she looked at it. Her eyes lit up not only because it’s cake, but because it was personalised just for her.
Now onto the filling of the cake!
I decided to go for chocolate as it’s both my gran and I’s favourite kind. Boy was it a great decision because it tastes phenomenal. Upon first bite my taste buds were satisfied! Absolutely delicious so it was and I even went back for seconds as did my gran.
Its light and fluffy yet packs a punch in taste. The consistency is nice, no hard bits or bland areas, the taste was spread the whole way through. I genuinely mean it when I say that bakerdays have one of the best chocolate cakes I’ve ever tasted.
What I love the most though is that we have been taking small slices for 4 days now, I’m currently on the last slice while I write this haha, but the cake is still as fluffy and delicious as it was on the very first slice.
Overall
Overall I am so impressed with the quality of the cake. It’s delicious and I mean DELICIOUS! I cannot recommend them enough, especially if you want to send a little gift to someone. Which brings me to an amazing 15% off code for bakerdays.

I never knew they were from Nottingham. Funny thing is, I got one in Surrey 3 months before I moved to Nottingham. I have been living here for 4 years! I think I better get another one now!

Thank you for sharing this with us, It’s light and fluffy, but it’s got a lot of flavor. The consistency is good; there are no hard portions or boring sections, and the flavor is well distributed throughout. When I say bakerdays has one of the nicest chocolate cakes I’ve ever had, I truly mean it.
