Eating Out in Glasgow: Full Burger and Bun Restaurant Review

[AD/GIFTED MEAL] Eating Out in Glasgow: Full Burger and Bun Restaurant Review
*2025 Update: Burger and Bun are no longer in business at this location
In 2018 S and I went along to Burger and Bun in Bearsden for an absolutely lovely meal.
Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect since I hadn’t heard of it before.
But, after browsing their website, the menu totally grabbed my attention.
I’m so glad we decided to give it a go as the whole experience was fantastic.
And I’m not just saying that!
Burger and Bun Full Review

When we arrived at Burger and Bun, I expected it to feel a little cramped as the outside didn’t look that big.
As they say though, looks can be deceiving!
Because as soon as we stepped inside, I was pleasantly surprised.
There’s plenty of space, especially with the extra seating upstairs.
The place was buzzing when we arrived, which was great to see.
I love when a restaurant has a good atmosphere, and Burger and Bun definitely delivered.
The décor was modern and stylish, making it a comfortable spot to sit back, enjoy your meal, and take your time.
The lighting was also spot on! Not too bright, not too dim which S really liked.
I love having a bit of privacy when I’m out, and even though the place was busy, it still felt relaxed and intimate.
It was easy to enjoy the moment without feeling crowded or distracted.

The Burger and Bun Menu
The menu is clear and easy to navigate, with just the right amount of choice.
It’s obvious that Burger and Bun focuses on doing a few things really well, rather than overloading the menu with random dishes that don’t fit the vibe.
I always appreciate places that stick to what they’re good at.
Even though the name suggests it’s all about burgers, you’ll find a few other options like hot dogs, ribs, and steaks.
There’s also a solid range of sides, and the burger selection is seriously on point.
The Drinks

Since it was our first meal out in a few weeks, we decided to treat ourselves to a little drink.
I definitely think we earned it.
S especially deserved one; he was a total champ for coming along even though his mouth was killing him after having his wisdom teeth removed.
I really liked how many options the drinks menu had with cocktails, hard milkshakes, regular milkshakes, and more.
I went for a Bellini, which is prosecco mixed with peach juice.
I’d never heard of it before, but wow, it tasted incredible.
After trying it, I’m definitely planning to make one myself sometime soon.
Our Burger and Bun Meals

For our mains, S went with the 8oz sirloin steak, which came with chips and BBQ sauce. And I ordered the classic burger with a side of onion rings.
Let’s start with Stephen’s meal
He was absolutely buzzing about the steak. If his mouth wasn’t still sore from getting his wisdom teeth out, he said he would’ve happily ordered a second one because it was that good.
They cooked it exactly how he likes it, and it wasn’t full of gristle either.
Hearing him rave about it was brilliant, he’s usually so quiet and hard to get a straight answer from!
His exact words?
“Go, get the steak… then get another, because you’ll love it.”
My Meal
Now, I’m known for having eyes bigger than my belly and I get full pretty quickly, but at Burger and Bun?
I cleared my whole plate, and even stole a few of S’s chips and his corn on the cob!
The burger was unreal.
It melted in my mouth, was cooked just right, and absolutely hit the spot. The onion rings were crispy, golden, and just so moreish.
I couldn’t stop eating.
So… is this the best burger I’ve had?
YES.
I completely fell in love with it. I already need to go back for more.
Dessert

For dessert, we both went with the vanilla ice cream.
S kept his plain, while I added strawberry sauce and sprinkles, because why not?
The ice cream was really lovely, and the portion size was generous, which I appreciated.
There’s nothing worse than paying loads for a dessert and getting a tiny scoop, but that definitely wasn’t the case here.
It’s affordable and you get plenty for your money, which is always a win in my book.
The Burger and Bun Restaurant

The upstairs space is a great size, and I love that they offer it as an option when downstairs gets busy.
It’s laid out really well, with tables for two, four, and six, so whether you’re heading in as a couple or with a group, you’ll easily find a spot.
I’m sure the staff would happily sort out seating for larger parties too, they gave off that welcoming vibe.
Burger and Bun is also super child-friendly, which gets major points from me.
When we visited, there were a few people dining with babies.
Some of the little ones were a bit fussy, but no one batted an eye. It was just normal, and that made me love the place even more.
Babies can be unpredictable, but that shouldn’t stop anyone from going out for a nice meal.
The whole atmosphere was super chilled, and I imagine that really helped the parents feel relaxed too.
The Toilets

It’s that time again… TOILET REVIEW!
If you’ve read any of my other restaurant posts, you’ll know I always check out the toilets.
In my opinion it says a lot about the establishment how they keep their toilets.
At Burger and Bun, there’s just one toilet, which makes sense for the size of the restaurant, though it would be nice to have a couple more.
That said, it was spotless, spacious enough to move around in comfortably, and had a big mirror, obviously essential!
The toilet definitely gets a thumbs up from me on cleanliness.
However where it gets points deducted is that it doesn’t feel accessible for certain disabilities.
I couldn’t imagine fitting a wheelchair in.
Final Thoughts

Our visit to Burger and Bun was genuinely such a great experience.
I loved every bit of the meal and left secretly hoping they might open a location a little closer to us one day.
From the delicious food to the friendly, welcoming staff, everything just felt spot on.
Nothing was ever too much trouble, and every member of staff had a smile on their face, which really added to the vibe.
The whole place has a warm, inviting atmosphere with a modern, stylish feel.
I’m also a big fan of their outdoor area, it’s such a lovely spot and would be perfect on a sunny day.
I’m already planning to go back when the sun’s out to enjoy a burger and a Bellini in the fresh air.
If you get the chance, go check them out, you won’t regret it.

This restaurant looks amazing! The food looks delicious and I like that the menu isn't too jam packed. We love a good burger restaurant so I wish this was closer to us so we could give it a try.
It's so difficult find child-friendly places so that's a really big positive for this place. The burger looks so delicious!
I am at the opposite end of the country, but this looks like a great burger bar. We have lots of fab burger places in Manchester too x
I love the decor it looks so stylish. I must admit I do love a good burger and these are making my mouth water!
I love going out for burgers. My favourite is GBK, they have a great gluten free menu including GF buns. So many other places I've been GF burger means without a bun.
That looks lovely. But far to travel from Devon but it’s definitely a place that would catch our eyes 😀
I look nothing better than a good burger!!! And if the staff was nice then it is a bonus!
