Taking A Look at My September To Do List | 2021 Edition

September To Do List | 2021 Edition
Here we are, another month into the year, another to do list and on the 18th September I’ll be another year older. *Cries internally*
Although getting older is always a weird thing for me, mainly due to the unhealed trauma I have over my mum passing in her early 30s and my uncle passing before he was even 29, I am rather excited for my birthday.
I’ve talked about my fear of getting older and the mortality it brings to the forefront before but it wasn’t until I started to talk out my feelings on this that I realised I’m just scared that I’ll die young as well and each year is a new line I fear I won’t pass.
But enough of that though, that’s far too heavy a topic for a simple to do list haha.
It’s time to take a look at my September to do list.
My September To-Do List
Get birthday presents for Gran sorted
I know I know, I had this on last months to do list and I should have ticked it off but so much has been going on I didn’t know where to start. Thankfully I have ordered a few bits for her and I’m just waiting on them being delivered. Can’t wait to see her face when she opens them because I’m sure I’ve nailed it this year.
Buy flowers for myself
Every year in September I have started to buy myself flowers as a little present before my birthday. Normally I will get sunflowers but the shops haven’t really had the best selection this year unfortunately so I have no idea what kind to get.
Get some Halloween/Autumn home décor pieces
I am SO EXCITED for Autumn, like, I am over the moon it’s coming. I do wish we had more sunny days to do things, but I’ve come to expect the fine Scottish Autumn weather around my birthday which gets me hyped for Autumn officially starting.
Although I have so many Autumn/Halloween themed decor items, I NEED more. A trip to TKMaxx is in order I think and candles are top of my list.
Make some nail sets for my birthday week
Every year I like to make a few different sets of nails for my birthday month so that I am stocked up without having to worry. I normally have it done by now truth be told so I have to get my skates on and get them done.
Finish off my 30 before 30 bucket list
Since I will be turning 30 next year, I thought I would put together a bucket list of 30 things I want to do before I turn 30. Going into the list my mind was racing with ideas, that was until I started to write them down and it was a measly 10 haha.
So, my thinking cap is on and I am determined to have this bucket list written out before the 18th September.
Get my hair re-done
How annoying is it when your hair is fine for a while then all of a sudden your roots grow in out of nowhere?! The absolute cheek of them. To say my hair needs done is an understatement, it’s a riot at the moment. The plan is to get it done before my birthday though.
Get back on track with The Blogger Monthly
When I say train wreck, I mean it. The Blogger Monthly brought me so much joy but then I slacked off, for good reason as we made the most of the summer holidays, but still, I wasn’t giving it the much needed attention.
It went from bad to worse though as family things have happened, my gran is really quite sick which is a huge stress at the moment. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you will know my gran means the world to me, so to see her so sick is terrifying. Her COPD is quite bad and it’s a constant worry it will get worse.
Plus my fibro has been flaring up and obviously little bear comes before everything. So, as you can imagine it’s a whole ball of bleh that’s pushed other work to the side. I’m not moaning about that though, the newsletter should come last, I’m just stressed about it so I’d like to get back to it.
And there you have it, my September to do list. It’s not a long one this month due to everything going on but I do want to get back to a steady schedule again.

I’m so sorry to hear about your gran – I hope she feels better soon 🙂 It sounds like you’ve got a full month coming up! Have you checked out any online florists for the sunflowers? I always use them to get flowers to my family in the UK and they’ve usually got fabulous selection!

I love that you buy flowers for yourself each year on your birthday – what a fun and sweet tradition!
I love that you get yourself flowers for your birthday month, it’s great to do a little something to treat yourself. And good luck coming up with your 30 before 30, I think I’d struggle to put mine together too. I hope you have the best birthday!! x

I have seen a few posts about monthly goals/to-do lists and I really like the idea — it sets out intentions/focus which I think is really beneficial. I might give some sort of a September bucket list a try to keep myself motivated. It sounds like you have some lovely things to look forward to so I hope you have a great month ahead and that the fears you mentioned at the beginning of your post don’t hold you back — which I am sure they won’t.
I hope your Gran feels better soon lovely! I love that idea of treating yourself to flowers for your birthday, what a cute idea! Maybe some flowers like Peonies, Lilies or Roses? I’m not sure if those flowers are in season right now (can flowers be in season?!) x

These sound super fun! Buying flowers for yourself is a great idea! But on a more somber note, I can see why age can be a weird thing for you. I can’t relate, but I wish you the best of luck this month. Thanks for sharing x

So sorry to hear about your grandma and your fibro flaring up, so truly hope that for your birthday you’re both well enough to celebrate and make some nice memories together! Hope you will find some other flowers to treat yourself with and a huge YES to all the candles, because you deserve a treat x
Happy birthday in advance and I hope your gran feel much better soon!
When a loved one has health problems it is normal to leave some things behind. Your readers are still here 🙂
Hope you complete all your list this time.
It sounds like you have some really great things you want to do for others and yourself.
This month I want to try and increase my DA by at least 1 point. I am also working on stationery week collaborations for next month.
I can’t wait to spend time with my family and partner this month.
Thank you for sharing Jordanne and good luck achieving all of the tasks on your to-do list.

I love your list for September, it’s simple and realistic to follow. I often get too overwhelmed if I have too many things on my list, so it’s nice to see a shorter one. I’m super excited for fall as well. I can’t wait to shop for new decor pieces. Great post!
I love the idea of buying flowers for yourself! I need to do it more often!
Happy Birthday to your Grandma. I need to get my hair redone, need a haircut!
August and September are hard now tha for my family too. But be brave and keep smiling!

Wishing you so much love and healing, I know that fear of thinking you too will pass young because someone you loved passed young.
Lovely September to do list.
