The Sims 4 Werewolves: My Full Honest Review [Updated for 2026]

Playing The Sims 4 is one of my favourite things to do in my spare time.

It’s a game I’ve played from Sims 1 and I’ve been hooked ever since!! As I’m rather hooked to it, I love keeping up with all the packs they bring out.

I’m especially drawn to their occult packs like Vampires, Realm of Magic, Mermaids and the likes.

So, when I saw they were bringing out The Sims 4 Werewolves pack, they got my attention.

That brings me to todays post!

As I love all things supernatural and The Sims 4, I wanted to give my honest opinions on the new pack.

All thoughts and opinions in this post are entirely my own.

Sims 4 Werewolves Full Review

When The Sims 4 Werewolves pack was only speculation, I had so many thoughts running through my head.

What would they look like? Would this pack be as broken as My Wedding Stories? What will the pack consist of?

So many thoughts were floating around and my excitement was real.

Then they released the trailer.

At first I was a bit stunned at the direction they were going in. The way the werewolves looked threw me a little bit.

I couldn’t put my finger on why exactly, but something just didn’t sit right.

After watching the trailer a few times though, it clicked, there’s no tails!

I know many people were annoyed at the way they looked as they likened their appearance to furries, but that doesn’t bother me if I’m honest. I quite like the cartoon style they have gone for.

Do I wish they looked a bit scarier? Yes. But do I understand what they were going for? Also yes.

What I can’t get behind though is the lack of tail and the weird looking legs.

This didn’t stop me lusting after the pack though.

As someone who loves the occult stuff in games, I had my heart set on getting this pack.

So, when June 16th rolled around, my other half kindly bought the pack for me as a present for 7 years of blogging.

Sims 4 Werewolves CAS (Create a Sim)

The create a sim part of The Sims 4 is my absolute favourite part. I could sit and make sims all day long if I could. There’s just something so satisfying about it.

That’s why I was most intrigued to see what the CAS items would be and how they were going to navigate the werewolf side of the sim.

Creating your werewolf sim

Thankfully they have kept to tradition for Sims 4 occult sims with the main sim form and then the werewolf form. Just like you would create a vampire, mermaid and alien.

It does look a little different though as it has the same sort of features as pets. It’s a combination of the pets options and “other forms” when creating your werewolf sim.

You can choose the face shape, fur colour, ears and more. You also have the choice of painting your wolves like you do with pets which is pretty cool.

CAS Items

With this new pack there are many new create a sim items and honestly, I love them all.

You’ve got items for masculine and feminine sims ranging from toddlers all the way up. I’ve only chosen the adult items to feature to give you a taste of what to expect, but there are items for toddlers and children as well.

My favourite items personally are the hair styles as they fit really well with the new pack but also work for all kinds of sims, not just werewolves.

As creating sims is my favourite part, I genuinely love all the new CAS items we got. The whole setup makes me happy and the fact you can paint your werewolf form is fantastic.

The downside of CAS

The only problem I have with the CAS experience is that when you’re in werewolf form and working with the clothing options, it’s hard to make them look nice in them, especially the feminine items.

To get round this I’ve decided to only have an everyday outfit on them. The rest of the outfit options such as athletic and such, I put no clothes on them as it makes more sense for them to not be wearing anything.

I mean, you wouldn’t really see a werewolf wearing clothes would you? You’d expect them to rip out of them when transitioning.

Sims 4 Werewolves Build & Buy

The new build and buy catalogue that comes with the werewolves pack consists of 90+ new items that are perfect for creating the best wolf house possible.

With so many new items in the pack from beautiful décor pieces to debug items, it’s great for simmers out there who enjoy building.

I really like the items that have come with this pack as you can use them in a multitude of ways. With the design of them you could easily work them into everyday builds, boohoo builds, spellcaster builds and more.

As someone who isn’t big on building, I’ve had a lot of fun giving it a go since getting this pack. The feel of “rough and ready” is very much up my street and pairing it with other items within the Sims 4 makes for pretty interesting combinations.

Sims 4 Werewolves Gameplay

With this new Sims 4 werewolves pack they have definitely put thought behind the new game play that it brings.

There are lots of new options and interactions that make game play more exciting. This is the most I’ve played the sims in a while because this new pack has me hooked.

It’s not something that’s over quickly either. If you’re not using cheats, it’s the right amount of difficulty to keep you hooked without leaving you bored.

Here’s some of the new game play options

  • New interactions
  • Werewolf pack options
  • New NPC characters that play a part in story telling
  • Ways to explore the world
  • New animations
  • It’s semi open world in Moonwood Mill
  • New ways you can play with your sims
  • New aspiration
  • Lore to explore
  • And more!

Exploring the world

One thing that I really like about this New pack is the way it’s opened up the world. I’m currently playing with a family and while I’m on the home lot I can explore the whole world!

I know this is already possible with the smaller worlds like Glimmerbrook and Forgotten Hollow, but I feel like there’s been more attention to detail with this pack.

All the details are great and I love how you can interact with the world around you as you can do it without having to travel all the time.

I love what they have done with this world!

You still have to do the travel option when you want to load into the likes of the library or bar area, but everything else is fully accessible like the hangout spots for the two werewolf packs in the world.

I’ve found this super handy as I have 8 sims in the household currently.

This means when I want to interact with the pack leader or go to their headquarters, I don’t have to choose one sim to travel with while the rest are at home.

You can still be doing things on the home lot while another sim heads on out and you can control them all easily.

The Lore

I’m a sucker for some Sims lore. I love backstories and getting sucked into the game by finding out the history of the worlds/sims. It makes me feel more connected to the game.

So, when I saw there was new lore added that’s connected to other packs as well, I was over the mood.

I won’t go into the lore here as I know a lot of people like myself, enjoy finding it out on their own.

But if you’re looking for the full lore in this pack all in one handy place, Plumbella has a fantastic video on her YouTube about it.

You can watch it hereThe Entire History of Moonwood Mill

My Overall Thoughts

As someone who does enjoy supernatural stuff, I absolutely love The Sims 4 Werewolves.

I’m pleasantly surprised at the lack of bugs and issues as I’ve personally not experienced any. Compared to My Wedding Stories, it’s way up there.

I do expect this though and think all packs they release should be fully working. There’s no need to be releasing packs that have so many issues, especially at the price.

Before setting release dates, these games should be fully tested and shown to be working.

I really like that this pack comes with a lot of gameplay options and has lore built in. It’s nice being able to find out tidbits about the history and play it as part of my story lines.

The world is also really well done in my opinion. All the surroundings are stunning and I think having James Turner (Sims YouTuber) create the lots was a smart move.

I think overall it’s a great pack to invest in, especially if you like playing with the occults in Sims 4. Having werewolves as part of the game now just ties in really well.

The story lines are endless.

Sims 4 Story Lines to Try Out with Werewolves

Here are some game play ideas on storylines you could do that include the werewolves pack.

  • Twilight
  • Vampire Diaries
  • The Originals
  • Forbidden Lovers
  • The Supernatural Bunch
  • The Lone Wolf

  1. I’ve never really played Sims but have always been interested in giving it a try. I really like the customization of the werewolves too; that was good to see there was not a generic wolf-like character. This actually sounds like something I’d enjoy playing; thanks for the review!

  2. Thank you for sharing your opinions on the new pack! I’m not really a fan of supernatural so I probably won’t buy this pack, but it has definitely intrigued me 🙂 x

  3. One of the main things on my to-do list for this year is to buy myself a new laptop that’s good enough to play The Sims on. I’ve been missing playing Sims SO MUCH recently, I think about it at least once a day, haha! I only played 4 briefly but this pack sounds so cool! I can’t wait to start playing again.

  4. I have yet to buy the pack because I was a bit put off by their appearance. They aren’t scary in the slightest and that’s what I was hoping for. That and the lack of tails!!! But having played a bit of it at my mates I have really enjoyed it and love the build/buy items and the CAS scars etc.

EA will always just be in my pocket taking my money, won’t they!?
